THE National Assembly has endorsed the outcome of the Presidential and National Asembly elections conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) across the country last Saturday. Data from the second 'black box' flight recorder belonging to the Germanwings plane that crashed in the French Alps confirms that the co-pilot acted deliberately, investigators say. The French BEA crash investigation agency said Andreas Lubitz repeatedly accelerated the plane's descent. The second flight recorder from the plane was recovered on Thursday.

The Resident Electoral Commissioner in Kano State, Mr Mikhail Abdullah, has died in a fire outbreak at his house in Kano State North West Nigeria. Mr Adbullah’s wife and two of their children were also killed in the fire incident. According to the police, the inferno occurred around 4:00am on Friday.

THE governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in the April 11 election in Lagos State, Mr. Jimi Agbaje, has congratulated president-elect, General Buhari.
