Aliko Dangote Now Ranks 37th In The World

Less than 24 hours after Nigerian billionaire business mogul, Aliko Dangote, rose to the 23rd position on Forbes Magazine’s ranking of World Richest Person, the President of Dangote Group has dropped 14 places to become the 37th in the world. Dangote was said to be worth $25 billion on Thursday, 6 November, 2014, but in the latest ranking published on Friday, 7 November, 2014, the first black person to be so ranked has seen his wealth dropped to about $21 billion. According to the ranking, Bill Gates still remains the richest person in the world with a net worth of $82 billion. He is closely followed by Carlos Slim Helu & family with a net worth of $82 billion.

US Troops In Nigeria To Curb Boko Haram

Reports say no fewer than 40 soldiers from the United States arrived Nigeria yesterday, to assist in curbing the activities of the dreaded Boko Haram sect. New Telegraph quoting highly-placed sources at the Army Headquarters (AHQ) reports that the US troops were sighted at the Defence Headquarters (DHQ), Abuja in combat gear. It could however not be ascertained if they were ground troops or merely security experts and intelligence specialist. “I can confirm to you that about 40 US military personnel, all in combat gear, have arrived in the country. “In fact, they arrived at the DHQ today (yesterday), and I’m sure they met with the military high command, for briefing and other necessary operational issues,” one of the sources said.

FG Offers Sierra Leone N42million Worth Of Ebola Drugs

The Nigerian government has offered drugs and supplies worth more than $249,000 (about N42million) to Sierra Leone, the Ministry of Health said on November 6, 2014, Thursday. According to the health ministry’s spokeswoman, Ayo Adesugba, this offering was made apart from a $3.5m donation promised by PresidentGoodluck Jonathan toward the fight against Ebola scourge in the West Africa sub-region. “Nigeria made the donation at the request of the government of Sierra Leone,” the statement said. Adesugba also noted that Nigeria had already mobilised and trained over 600 health workers as volunteers to support the containment effort in affected countries within the region under the leadership of the Economic Community Of West African States. It would be recalled that Nigeria was recently declared Ebola-free by the World Health Organization (WHO), having recorded no new cases of the highly contagious disease after six weeks since 31 August. Their new China-only S90 'Sisley' is a mid-range device which just happens to look near identical to the iPhone 6. It has the same rounded metal case, the same colour options and the same advertising – with Lenovo evenproducing a similar wallpaper to the one used in the iPhone 6 promo shots (this isn’t an insignificant thing to copy – wallpapers are often easier to identify than the phones themselves).
