The remains of the female politicians, who died in a ghastly auto accident have been laid to rest at the Bayelsa State cemetery, Azikoro in Yenagoa, the state capital. President Goodluck Jonathan his wife, Dame Patience and the Bayelsa State Governor, Hon. Seriake Dickson as well as wives of the Anambra and Ekiti State Governors joined other sympathizers at a special memorial service in honour of the deceased women at the Dr. Gabriel Okara Cultural Centre, in Yenagoa.

Popular Channel O VJ, Denrele Edun might jut have revealed that he is gay. In a Twitter interview with Kimani Off air on February 22, 2015, Denrele who is popular for his crazy looks was asked if he was gay and he replied: “Being gay is a tough job, but someone’s gotta do it!” Sometime last week there were allegations that he was in a romantic relationship with artiste May Shuabut he shut them down.

The House of Representatives, yesterday, commended President Goodluck Jonathan for motivating the Nigerian military to be more committed to the fight against Boko Haram insurgency. This, they believed, facilitated the recovery of some towns that had fallen under the control of the insurgent group. The commendation came when a motion of urgent national importance was moved by Muhammad Tahir Monguno, APC, Borno State.

According to the National Secretary of the PDP, Professor Adewale Oladipo, the PDP membership card torn by former President Olusegun Obasanjo on February 16th had long expired as it was signed by a former acting chairman of the party, Alhaji Abubakar Baraje who is now a chieftain in the APC. According to Professor OLadipo, Chief Obasanjo is over 80 years old and there are certain actions people of his age take that they themselves can't explain. Prof Oladiposaid this while speaking to a group of students who came to show their solidarity for President Jonathan at the party's National secretariat in Abuja yesterday.

The Federal Government, Monday, scheduled to pay off about N264 billion between now and end of March, as subsidy reimbursement applications submitted to marketers as at end of January 2015. A breakdown showed that the sum comprises 2014 outstanding debts of N164 billion in addition to N100 billion derived from foreign exchange and bank interest charges. The decision was arrived at a crucial meeting with the Ministries of Finance, Petroleum Resources, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and oil marketers in Abuja on Monday at the instance of the Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala.

President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan condemns the reversion by the terrorist group, Boko Haram to the callous bombing of soft targets in parts of Nigeria in the wake of the ongoing rapid recovery by gallant Nigerian troops and their multinational allies of areas formerly controlled by the sect.
