The 2015 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards is here and the nominees have been revealed. Popular Ghanaian rapper tops the list with a whooping 11 nominations. Tiwa Savage, Yemi Alade, Patoranking, AKA, Diamond Platnumz were also nominated for African Artiste of the year category.

The Peoples’ Democratic Party on Friday said there was a sinister plot by Asiwaju Bola Tinubu to personally seize power through the back door. The PDP alleged that Tinubu deliberately propped up Buhari and, Osinbajo as a step in his ultimate plot of becoming President. Tinubu had angled to be Vice Presidential candidate but when he was resisted by the likes of Gov Chibuike Amaechi, Bukola Saraki he propped a, stooge in the person of Prof Yemi Osinbajo.

About 164 corps members are to receive the presidents’ NYSC honours award ceremony which will hold at the Presidential Villa on Monday, March 2, 2015. This was revealed by the director general of the NYSC, Brig-Gen Johnson Olawumi, while briefing the press on the award ceremony yesterday.

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, is yet to release 430,000 Permanent Voters Cards, PVCs, to Lagos State. PVCs This was disclosed by the INEC’s Resident Electoral Commissioner, REC, to Lagos, Akin Orebiyi today while demonstrating the use of the Card Reader Machine to Governor Babatunde Fashola at the State House, Ikeja, Lagos, Southwest Nigeria. Orebiyi disclosed that 430,000 PVCs were still being awaited from Abuja for Lagos, saying hopefully, the PVCs would arrive Lagos next week.

The Ebonyi State House of Assembly Friday morning set in motion the process to remove the state Governor, Elder Martin Elechi, by serving him an impeachment notice for acts of gross misconduct. Reading the notice at the plenary, the acting leader of the House, Hon. Francis Nwifruru, accused Governor Elechi of huge financial misappropriation, undermining of the integrity of the House, among other offences.
