A very bootylicious Beyonce and husband Jay-Z drunk in love on Grammys stage, but did they go too far?
THE world's most powerful entertainment couple Beyonce and Jay-Z showed them how it's done with their sizzling performance at the Grammy Awards.
Beyonce steamed up the stage and screens sitting on a chair in a barely-there leotard to open the show with Drunk In Love.
But you could hear the room buzz - and social media race to judgment - when she stood up and revealed only a flimsy thong caged the legendary bootyliciousness from the cameras.
There was some speculation that she suffered a major wardrobe malfunction during the electric performance but a spokesperson took to Twitter to clarify the nipples were part of the design of the super sexy onesie.
When husband Jay-Z joined her on stage, the crowd swelled in approval as they indulged in a spot of dirty dancing which was far less gratuitous than the infamous Miley Cyrus grinding Robin Thicke moment at last year's MTV Awards.
And Beyonce's dancing with her partner in the Crazy In Love video is probably more sexy than the Grammys spot.
But there was plenty of objection from some quarters on Facebook and Twitter who claimed the outfit and the moves weren't suitable for public viewing.
"I really didn't care for it. You once was a beautiful classy young lady, and now I just don't know ...," commented Priscilla Watkins Ward.
Mandy Flores also questioned whether the outfit should be seen by her younger fans.
"Aren't u a mother now!!? Thought u had class, how trashy and I couldn't even let my 8 year old watch. U have never done anything like that! So disappointed."
"I don't have any shame about being sexual. I'm not embarrassed about it," Beyonce insisted recently in a documentary about the making of her self-titled fifth record.
And the majority of her fans agreed with the overwhelming reaction in Beyonce and her husband's favour.
Many commented that it was refreshing to see a married couple so "drunk in love" in the same awards telecast which celebrated the institution with a commitment ceremony by 33 couples during the Macklemore and Ryan Lewis performance of Same Love.
"So nice to see a married couple loving on each other," Lisa Miller Lucas commented.
