Defender Serge-ing to PSG

One here that may have slipped through your net in all of last night's stateside friendly action, is Ivory Coast right-back Serge Aurier being snapped up on loan by moneybags Paris Saint-Germain.

It's a year-long agreement for the Toulouse defender, with the French champions having the option to buy at the end of next season.

Arsenal were heavily linked with defender this summer, but opted to sign Mathieu Debuchy instead.

Arsenal's new anchorman?

Our man John Cross argued earlier this week that what Arsenal need, what they really, really need is a new midfielder.

Stellar names such as Sami Khedira and Lars Bender have been banded around during the transfer window, but it appears that Arsene Wenger's solution is closer to home.

The Gunners' boss believes that Jack Wilshere could well be that man - giving our photo department the excuse to get creative:

Over to Old Trafford next, where Argentina star Angel Di Maria's name is still being talked about in hushed tones.

There's talk on CaughtOffside.com that it's a two-horse race between the Red Devils and Paris Saint-Germain for the Real Madrid star.

Elsewhere, the Arturo Vidal talk rumbles on - now that Suarez and Sanchez are done, this is the closest we've got to a fully-blown long-running summer transfer saga, so drink it in folks.

Liverpool news next which leads on reports that the Reds are in for Juventus' man-of-the-moment Arturo Vidal.

That would be quite the coup for Brendan Rodgers, but the Italian champions aren't making any kind of encouraging noises about letting their midfield man go.

There's also more on Liverpool's move for Dejan Lovren, while we're on Loic Remy and Javier Manquillo-watch today, as the Reds are expected to complete some signings for non-Southampton players.

Let's kick off with a few club-by-club gossip round-ups.

Here's the word on the street regarding all things Arsenal, where the big names being linked with a move to the Emirates this morning are Douglas Costa and Mauricio Isla.

Shakhtar forward Costa is unsettled in the Ukraine (can't really blame him for that at the moment), but the Gunners will face obstacles in the form of competition from AC Milan and Spurs, plus a club that doesn't want to sell on the cheap.

Isla, meanwhile, was one of Chile's main men at the World Cup and it is being reported by El Mercurio that Newcastle are waiting in the wings with a £8million bid.
