Tinubu not down with stroke in American hospital …on vacation, says aide
Speculations that Leader of the All
Progressive Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola
Tinubu is down with stroke in an American
Hospital, has been described as a wicked
rumor.
Some online blogs had published reports
suggesting that the health of Tinubu, who left
Nigeria few weeks ago was gone from bad to
worse.
According to the reports, which quoted a
source close to the Tinubu family, the health
of the APC leader may have worsened due to
recent discovery of cancer
.
The cancer, the source claims, had reached
advanced stage before it was diagnosed by the
medical team, adding that the recent stroke
only added to the seriousness of the situation.
It was alleged that Tinubu in his current state
has not been able to recognize close family
relatives who had come to pay him a visit,
heightening fears that the self-styled
godfather of southwest politics was exhibiting
symptoms of dementia.
But an aide of the former Lagos State
Governor, Sunday Dare, in an electronic
message to said the
speculations are unfounded and fallacious.
He said Tinubu was away on vacation and
would be back to shame his detractors.
According to Dare the rumor deserved no
attention because it was concocted by agents
of darkness and idle minds.
Dare said “ If you believe this then you will
fall for anything. This is a lie from the pit of
hell. An unfounded and fallacious rumor
concocted by agents of darkness and idle
minds.”
“Ask if they have proof. The day he returns I
will invite you to welcome him. It is quiet
amusing that such a wicked rumour that
deserves no attention but to be trashed is
even being pursued. It is those that think he
has a stroke that suffer from a stroke of the
mind” he said
Another source said “Yes, it is true Asiwaju
is out of the country. But he is on vacation.
He was in the United States for some days,
Los Angeles I guess. He then proceeded to
London. It is normal for him at this time to
observe his summer break.”
Efforts by pointblanknews.com correspondent
in the United States to locate the residence of
Tinubu proved abortive, as Dare did not
disclose.
