Multiple Explosion & Gunshot Hit Damaturu As Boko Haram Besieges Town
Disrupting news coming from Damaturu, Yobe State this early morning suggests that the capital is under attack by gunmen suspected to be members of the dreaded Boko Haram sect.
Leadership reports that the heavy attack involved shooting and explosion was launched around 6:30am and that the insurgents have apparently besieged the town.
Frightened residents of the town were forced to flee in fear for their lives.
A resident, who preferred anonymity, disclosed:
“As I am talking to you now, we are in serious confusion now, gunshots and explosions everywhere especially from the southern part of the city and people are fleeing.”
Sahara Reporters further revealed that the gunmen, who have already attacked schools and mobile police base, are heading for the government house with the aim to seize the capital.
