What Is The Hot Felon Doing Now?

One of 2014's biggest heartthrobs wasn't a movie star or a musician...or even a free man. Still interested?
Jeremy Meeks, who came to be known as “Hot Felon,” rose to explosive internet fame after the Stockton, California police department posted his mugshot back in June. Meeks’ baby blues and chiseled jawline quickly turned him into an online sensation, and despite the fact that he was in custody, rumors flew about him earning a modeling contract with Blaze Models.
So where is Mr. Meeks now? Will his mug be shot by fashion photographers any time soon?
In a word, no. This is the last new photo we’ll probably see of him for awhile:

On July 8th Meeks showed up to court, wearing the above orange jumpsuit (despite the motion filed by his attorney seeking to let him “wear civilian clothing that is fitting for his body structure”), and got some bad news: His “felon in possession of a firearm” charge would be turned over to federal prosecutors.
He was moved temporarily to the Sacramento County Jail, where he will be held until he carries out the sentence handed to him by the feds.
While being in custody may lower his chances of obtaining business opportunities, Meeks has enlisted the services of self-proclaimed “D-List” manager Gina Rodriguez, a former porn star who also reps clients such as Michael Lohan, and whose past roster included the likes of Octomom, Tan Mom and Tila Tequila. As Vice puts it, “Gina’s job, basically, is to help people extend their 15 minutes of fame by any means necessary.”

Rodriguez has declined to give any interviews about Meeks as of late, possibly because she received a number of harassing calls

(and even a death threat) upon announcing her partnership with him.
So, what does his future look like?
Lauren Horwood, a spokesperson for the U.S. Attorney’s Office, tells us that on November 6th Meeks pled guilty to one count of illegal firearm possession. He will remain in Sacramento until he’s sentenced on January 22, 2015.
As for those of us who are disheartened by the fact that a celeb convict sighting isn’t anywhere on the horizon, perhaps we’re not missing out on much. Horwood, who saw Meeks in person at court, reports that she was “underwhelmed,” adding, “Let’s just say he’s photogenic.”
