Okezie Ikpeazu Wins Abia Guber Poll



The governorshp candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abia State, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu’ was this morning declared winner of the governorship election in the state,

Announcing the result at the INEC headquarters in Umuahia, the returning officer Prof. Ozumba said Ikpeazu polled 264,713 votes to beat his closest rival, Alex Oti of APGA who scored 180, 882 votes.

Amid a tense cease-fire which has held since Monday night, the U.S. troops deployed at the request of the State Department, said Africom spokeswoman Cpt. Jennifer Dyrcz.
