Pele in Stable Condition after Surgery

Legendary Brazilian Pele has had prostrate surgery and is in a stable condition, officials at the Albert Einstein Hospital in Sao Paulo confirmed on Thursday.

This is after the three time World Cup winner is admitted to hospital for the second time in six months and received transurethral resection of the prostate, according to the hospital.

The 74-year-old was treated in hospital for a urinary infection in November 2014 after having kidney stones removed. He was hospitalised for about two weeks.

The ex-Santos star scored 77 goals in 91 appearances for Brazil.
