Army ‘destroys Boko Haram camps’

Lagos - Nigeria’s military says it destroyed all known camps of Islamist terrorist group Boko Haram in the country’s north-east.
“All the terrorist camps have been completely wiped out” following weeks of air and ground operations, Defence Ministry spokesman Colonel Rabe Abubakar said in a statement Wednesday night.
The information could not be independently verified by dpa.
Boko Haram, which seeks to establish a state with its very strict interpretation of Islamic law, killed an estimated 14 000 people since 2009.
