Kenya: Reshuffle Cabinet, Uhuru Told
NGOs have urged President Uhuru Kenyatta to reshuffle the Cabinet.
The NGOs urged the President not to reinstate the five suspended CSs.
They are Charity Ngilu (Lands), Michael Kamau (Transport), Kazungu Kambi (Labour), Felix Koskei (Agriculture) and Davis Chirchir (Energy).
"The resignation of Cabinet Secretary Anne Waiguru [Devolution] should pave way for the reshuffle of the Cabinet. Governing the country with only a third of the Cabinet Secretaries is unsustainable," the NGOs said in a statement.
The statement was signed by directors of Transparency International Kenya, the Association of Citizens Against Corruption and the Society for International Development.
The NGOs welcomed the President's measures announced on Monday to curb corruption.
They said the President should institute life-style audits of existing and prospective Cabinet Secretaries.
