Britney Spears, Gwen Stefani and more record song for Orlando victims

Britney Spears, Gwen Stefani and Selena Gomez are among the 24 recording artists who teamed up to create a song for the victims of the Orlando massacre.

Proceeds from track entitled, "Hands," will be donated to the injured Pulse victims and their families to help with ongoing medical bills and counseling.

The project was spearheaded by songwriter, Justin Tranter, who has written hits for several prominent pop artists including, Justin Bieber and Nick Jonas. Tranter told Billboard magazine that "Hands" was a song he had worked on years earlier, but never finished because "it didn't feel right." After the shooting, he said he realized the song's greater purpose.

"When you hear the song it talks about hate being the driver here," GLAAD CEO, Sarah Kate Ellis, said to Billboard . "And that's important because we have to be able to identify what's driving these cruel acts in order to stop them. Artists using their platforms to accelerate acceptance is very powerful."

Tranter expressed his appreciation for how quickly the two dozen artists signed on to contribute and told Billboard, "Everyone just got it done."
