Kobe Bryant Blasted with Golden Slime at Kids' Sports Choice Awards

Kobe Bryant's gold-and-purple days aren't quite behind him.

Well, the gold part, anyway.

While on stage accepting the Legend Award during Thursday night's taping of Nickelodeon's Kids’ Sports Choice Awards, the recently retired Los Angeles Laker was blasted with slime—as is often customary at the show.

However, this time event eschewed the signature green tint:

In addition to receiving the honor, Bryant's metallic coating may well be preparing him for another.

After all, it's high time the Academy Awards enlisted a real-life "Oscar
