Nigeria: ASUU Flays Scrapping of Post-UTME
The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has condemned the federal government's decision to scrap the post-Universities and Tertiary institutions Matriculation Examinations.
ASUU president, Professor Biodun Ogunyemi, said in Abuja yesterday that the decision did not serve the interest of Nigerians as the examination conducted by JAMB is not credible enough to warrant the cancellation of post UMTE tests.
He said the decision was against the FGN/ASUU agreement of 2009.
Ogunyemi said the association, as an important stakeholder in the university system, would continue to draw the attention of all concerned to the possible threat to peaceful development and growth of the Nigerian education system.
