The Federal Government has called on the incoming administration of General Muhammadu Buhari not to tamper with the privatisation of the power sector. The Minister of Power, Chinedu Nebo, made the call today while addressing State House journalists after the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting presided over by President Goodluck Jonathan.

A prison inmate who had sexual romps on various occasions with two female workers at the prison is now suing the county for sexual harassment. Meanwhile the two female workers have lost their jobs, and one is now herself languishing in jail. The NY Daily News put it so nicely by saying that it wasn’t just the former jail workers who are getting screwed. Now the county might have to pay up for charges of sexual harassment after the many and various incidents in the supply closet of the Washington County Jail.

A bill seeking to give legal backing for the establishment of an agency to address problems of land degradation and desertification has passed second reading in the Senate. The National Agency for the Great Green Wall Establishment bill received vast support from federal lawmakers at Wednesday’s plenary session.
