Robert De Niro compares his character in ‘Taxi Driver’ to Donald Trump — ‘he is totally nuts’
You won't find a Donald Trump sticker in this taxi driver's cab.
Robert De Niro found a striking comparison to his character in "Taxi Driver" and U.S. Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump when opening up the 22nd Sarajevo Film Festival on Friday.
The actor said Trump isn't where he's supposed to be — just like the mentally disturbed Travis Bickle in the 1976 classic, "Taxi Driver."
He said that Trump's nomination by the Republican Party was "crazy."
"What he's been saying is really totally crazy, ridiculous ... he is totally nuts," De Niro said.
"God help us," he continued.

The "Goodfellas" star added that the media has given the candidate too much attention and are now realizing, "come on Donald, this is ridiculous, this is nuts, this is insane."
De Niro added that at the end of "Taxi Driver," Bickle goes back to being a cab driver — hinting that Trump should stick to being a businessman.
