Arsenal up Mahrez bid?
Arsenal have increased their bid for Riyad Mahrez to €41million (£35million), according to L’Equipe.
The Gunners were reportedly set to end their interest in the Leicester playmaker, who looked set to remain at the King Power Stadium for another season.
But Mahrez is allegedly still wanted by Arsenal and they are said to have upped their offer.
It is claimed that Mahrez has rejected a contract proposal from Leicester to keep him at the club for the foreseeable future.

Moyes challenges Januzaj
Sunderland boss David Moyes has challenged new signing Adnan Januzaj to show the form which once made him the hottest young property at Manchester United.
The 21-year-old winger arrived at the Stadium of Light on a season-long loan and will go straight into the Black Cats’ injury-ravaged squad at Manchester City today.
Moyes said: “It’s a big boost because he has real quality. He can turn games and I’m determined to get him back to the level he was a couple of years ago.
“I’ve told him he needs to stop blaming everyone else, he needs to mature into a team player. If he shows he’s playing for the team, everyone will take to him because he’s such a talent.
“He reminds me a little of Chris Waddle in the sense he has movement, can beat people from a standing start and can play on either wing.”
Schlupp set for Leicester exit
Jeffrey Schlupp has edged closer to the Leicester exit after being left out of their squad for today’s season-opening lunchtime clash at Hull.
Boss Claudio Ranieri has omitted Schlupp for the first game of the Foxes title defence after telling him he is free to leave the champions because his chances of first-team football would be limited this season.
Schlupp, 23, has now accepted he has to move on after being squeezed out at the King Power and the latest development is a boost for West Brom.
Hawthorns boss Tony Pulis is determined to sign the versatile Ghanaian international, who can play anywhere along the left flank.
Morning
It’s finally back!
That’s right, today’s the day that Premier League football returns to our lives after a barren summer of, er, Euro 2016 and International Champions Cup (sigh) action. Well ok, it feels like football has never been away, but the real thing returns now, as your weekends are sorted until next May.
Optimism will be at an season-high (expect Arsenal fans, perhaps) as each of the 20 teams get set to begin their campaigns, whether their objectives are finishing top of the pile, in the European places or just 17th place.
While the big show gets up and running today, there’s still plenty of time for clubs to put the finishing touches to their squads, as there’s still more than two weeks to go until the transfer window slams shut at the end of the window.
In a week where we’ve seen the world transfer record broken by Manchester United, there’s still going to be plenty more deals before the end of the month, so we’ll be here all day to bring you the latest deals as they happen.
So whack on the kettle, get a brew on the go and we’ll get cracking...
