Jack Collison hopes his spell on trial at QPR can earn him a deal - at Loftus Road or elsewhere.
The former West Ham midfielder has been training with the Hoops after being released by the Upton Park club at the end of the season, and was included in the 26-man squad for the pre-season tour to Germany.
And the Welsh international, who has been hampered by a knee problem in recent years, is hopeful he will win a contract.
He said: "The injury has been frustrating but the manager here has been good and not pushed me too hard on the first few days, he is easing me back in nicely.
"Hopefully I can start getting involved in some games and start showing people what I can offer them.
"There's no pressure, it's a fantastic club and at the moment I am just grateful to have the opportunity to train with some good players and a fantastic manager.
"So we will see what happens. For me it's just great to come here."

Done deal!
Ignacio Scocco's utterly forgettable spell in the Premier League is over.
Talented player, but this was always going to be a gamble.

According to French station RMC, Liverpool are in a race with Atletico Madrid to sign Nicolas Gaitan.
The Benfica attacking midfielder has been linked with a move to the Premier League on a few occasions in the last year and is thought to be in demand once again.
The player has been given the thumbs up for a move to Monaco, but the clubs have been unable to settle on a fee. With a release clause of €45million, he would not come cheap, but the Reds have not been worried about splashing the cash this summer.

Manchester United have been dealt a blow in their reported pursuit of Arturo Vidal.
The Chilean, who has just returned to Juventus after a post-World Cup break, told reporters in Italy that he is not moving to the home of the Red Devils.
"I do not go to Manchester," he said. "Can I say I will remain with Juve? I don’t know.
"I’ll talk to (Massimo) Allegri on Monday and then we will see. I haven’t spoken with Allegri or any of my team-mates yet, but I’m not going to Manchester."

Another goalkeeper at Arsenal?
Spanish sports daily Sport are reporting that Arsenal are closing in on a deal for Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas.
They claim that the shot-stopper is due to sign a five-year contract worth £7million in the coming days.
Casillas still has three years remaining on his Real Madrid contract, but is currently behind Diego Lopez in the pecking order at the Bernabeu.
With Keylor Navas set to sign in the Spanish capital, there could be more movement before the transfer window closes.

Liverpool are reported to have rekindled their interest in Chelsea defender Ryan Bertrand.
According to the Daily Express, the Blues left-back is a summer target for Brendan Rodgers, who is reshaping his squad at Anfield.
Out of favour at Stamford Bridge, Bertrand spent last season on loan at Aston Villa, and could set the Reds back around £8million.

Hmmm
French sports daily L'Equipe are reporting that QPR are in the market for Mathieu Valbuena.
The Marseille man – one of the stars of his country's World Cup campaign – has already turned down an offer from Dynamo Moscow, believed to be in the region of €7million.
With all due respect to Rangers and, er, Dynamo, surely there are bigger sides who would be interested in his services. He's a class act.

More Mourinho on Drogba:
"If you bring him back it's not because he is Didier or scored the most important goal in the history of Chelsea football (see below) or because - as I read - I need an assistant.
"No. If I bring him back it is because, as a player, he has certain qualities to make the team stronger.
"The team is not about the 11, it is about the different options and as an option I would not say no about the possibility.
"With Didier's profile, being a squad player I think could be important for any team. And because we know his heart is pushing him to where he feels he belongs, and because our boss has this big feeling towards him, we are thinking about the possibility.
"Mr Abramovich does not speak a lot and does not speak at all to you [the media]. But as you can imagine, he is very intelligent and he feels that people belong to the club.
"We feel that Didier belongs to us."

Jose Mourinho has confirmed he wants to bring Didier Drogba back to Chelsea - because he believes the striker can still terrify Premier League defences.
The Blues hope to seal the 36-year-old Ivorian's return on a 12-month deal within the next 48 hours.
And, speaking publicly about re-signing Drogba for the first time, boss Mourinho explained just why he is willing to go back to forge the west Londoners' future.
Mourinho said: "We want to win matches and win titles and Didier is one of the best strikers in Europe. He is still very adapted to the needs of the Premier League and we are thinking about it in a non-emotional way."
8:19 am
Tuttosport are claiming that AC Milan are set to officially offer Mario Balotelli to Arsenal this summer.
The report claims that Adriano Galliani wants Arsenal to send them €10million and Joel Campbell in exchange for the former Manchester City man.
The Italian striker took a hammering from the Italian press following his country's exit from the World Cup, and it seems that San Siro bosses could be willing to cash in.

He is the face of terror. A ruthless leader with a twisted ideology. And the sadistic architect of a campaign of mayhem and misery. And yet, very little is known about Abubakar Shekau, the leader of Boko Haram. He operates in the shadows, leaving his underlings to orchestrate his repulsive mandates. He resurfaces every once in a while in videotaped messages to mock the impotence of the Nigerian military. And he uses his faith to recruit the impressionable and the disenfranchised to his cause. He is a religious scholar Shekau was born in Shekau village that borders Niger. He studied under a cleric and then attended Borno State College of Legal and Islamic Studies for higher studies on Islam.
