North Korea Rips Off Apple’s Mac OS X

Image
North Korea maybe seen as one of the world’s most oppressive governmental regimes, but when it comes to technology it appears as though they are making effort to keep up with the times.   Red Star OS is the country’s national operating system, and recently some screenshots have surfaced that the OS is looking decidedly like a copy of Apple’s Mac OSX .  Prior to this Red Star OS looked a great deal like Microsoft’s Windows OS. (See Image) North Korea Tech is a blog that covers technology and computing in the country.  They have posted images of Red Star OS 3.0, stating that the software is based on the open-source Linux, operating system. The  South China Morning Post  stated that the software is used only by North Korea’s elite, and that it is installed in “some universities and state-run industries as a means of accessing Kwangmyong, the country’s domestic and heavily censored public intranet.”

Aston Martin Forced To Recall 75% Of Cars From 2007 On

Image
There are small problems for vehicle manufacturers, and then there are big problems. Aston Martin is currently facing a pretty big one. Just how big, you ask? Well, they have to recall 75% of their vehicles that were made between the years 2007 and 2014 . It turns out that a certain supplier in China was allegedly using counterfeit plastic to create the gas pedals used in most Aston Martin vehicles. Aston Martin is worried that the fake plastic could ultimately cause the pedal system to break, which would cause the car to lose momentum and slow until it would completely stop – never an ideal situation unless you’re off on some back road with no other vehicles in sight, and even then it would probably ruin your day. So, they are taking action and calling roughly 3/4 of the vehicles they’ve created since 2007 back to the shop so they can remedy the problem. Just How Many Cars Will Be Recalled?

At a briefing in London, the MoD and BAE Systems announced that the aircraft, which is described as a “combat vehicle demonstrator”, designed to prove that the technology it is currently using, works.

Google’s World Domination Plan

Image
If you have been following Google recently you will have noticed how the company seems to snapping up every robotics company and intelligence system in sight. Just in the last few months, Google has acquired Nest , the company responsible for making the smart thermostat, as well as Boston Dynamics , the robotics company. Even as recent as last week, Google splurged $400 million on the artificial intelligence specialists DeepMind Technologies . So what is Google’s strategy in all of this? When you look at the number of acquisitions it becomes clear that the company is exploiting an inefficiency  in the market so that it can become the leader in the field of intelligent computing. Google obviously thinks that in the future any intelligent or automation system will be served by robots. In acquiring all the related companies, Google becomes the big player before any of its competitors even get a look in. It’s not just the companies that Google is snapping up but also all the

6 Tips to Help Improve Your Work Relationship With Your Boss

Image
Bosses, either you absolutely love them…or absolutely loathe them. I have had two incredible bosses throughout my tenure as an employee. They were very patient, receptive to employee ideas and suggestions, considerate of employee personal obligations, always exposing us to new and better ways of handling work matters and also very honest and forthcoming when dealing with company and employment issues. I have also had some not so pleasant bosses who lied, utilized horrible language in the workplace, exposed employees to personal matters going on within their family and also were completely dismissive about employee’s personal and professional growth.

Image
MINISTER of Finance and the Coordinating Minister for the Economy, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, yesterday tackled critics of the 2014 budget, saying that the high recurrent was compounded by the pension burden and the 53 per cent federal government salaries increases of 2010. But her Special Adviser, Paul Nwabuikwu said in a statement in Abuja, yesterday, “though government is continuous and the Minister has no desire to shirk her responsibilities, the effort to personalize these issues on the basis of inaccurate information must be roundly refuted.” Okonjo-Iweala According to him, “the first point made by some Senators is that she is responsible for the rising recurrent expenditure, which according to them rose “from 69 per cent in the 2013 budget to 76 percent in the 2014”. This is inaccurate.” H
