India Arrests 2 Nigerians Running Fake Job Racket

Indian police in New Delhi said it has arrested two Nigerians and 16 Indian accomplices running a fake job racket, offering non-existent jobs in  big companies , via e-mail to gullible youths and duping them of money. The  Times of India  reported today that the Nigerian-led gang especially targeted people living in southern part of India. Delhi Police said it received around 300 complaints across the country. Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ravindra Yadav said what is interesting is that the kingpin of the gang operated from Nigeria and ran the entire gang with the help of two modules which had no clue about each other’s existence. “There were two modules of this gang, the first part consisted of the two Nigerians, identified as Chinedu Cyprial (24) and Dubuisi Charles (28) and two other associates who are still at large “They used to procure email IDs of gullible job seekers from various  job search engines  and sent them fake job offers in the name of reputed and well k

Second Niger Bridge: I have Kept My Campaign Promise-Jonathan

President Goodluck   Jonathan   has commended the people of the South-East and South-South zones for their patience over delays in the construction of the 2nd Niger  Bridge . “My sincere promise during my campaign is today made a reality to the good people of the South-East and South-South,’’ Jonathan said before performing the groundbreaking of the bridge. The president performed the ceremony in Atani, near Onitsha, Anambra on Monday. The dual carriageway bridge, designed to be 1,590m long, is scheduled to be completed in four years by Messrs Julius Berger  Construction Company . Jonathan said the  Federal Government  was building two important bridges across the two great Rivers in the country – Niger and Benue –for the benefit of Nigerians.

Dangote Launches higher grade of cement, the first in Africa

As the debate rages over the quality of cement produced in the country, leading manufacturers of the commodity, Dangote Cement Plc yesterday raised the bar further when it launched a much higher grade of the product, 52.5N into the Nigerian market. Group  Managing Director  of the Company, Devakumar Edwin told newsmen in Lagos yesterday that Dangote Cement Plc has commenced the production of the cement grade from all of its three plants in Ibese, Ogun state, Gboko, Benue state and Obajana in Kogi state. The  cement company  said it has scored another first as the 52.5 grade of cement is being produced in the  Africa  for the first time, thus attesting to the resolve of the Dangote Cement to be a leading international producer of cement.

“MASSOB Behind Attack On Enugu Government House” – Police commissioner

The Enugu State Commissioner of  Police , Mr. Abubakar Mohammed Adamu, on Monday confirmed last Saturday attack on Enugu   Government   House. The Commissioner, who spoke at a media briefing said the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB, was behind the attack. Adamu, however, said contrary to earlier reports, nobody was  shot  dead during the incident. He disclosed that one of the alleged attackers, Ifeanyi Chukwuma, from Anambra State, who was shot during the attack, was still receiving  treatment  at a hospital.

Emir Of Yobe Is Dead

The Emir of Ngelzarma in Fune  Local Government  of Yobe State, Alhaji Mahammadu Mai Yeri Ibn Isa II is dead. We gathered that the First Class Emir today died in a ghastly  car crash  in Gerei in Adamawa State. The  Secretary  of the  Emirate  Council Alhaji Abubakar Ibn Mai Yeri who confirmed the death to newsmen in Damaturu informed that Royal Father died in an  auto crash  which occurred around 2:00pm on Monday afternoon. Aged 49, the royal father was survived by two wives and thirteen children. NE  checks  gathered that his father whom he succeeded also died in an auto crash along Damaturu/Maiduguri highway. A  palace  source revealed that the late emir would be buried on Tuesday at his  home town  in Ngelzarma.

Begin Campaigns, Get Sanctions, Jega Warns Politicians

The Chairman of Nigeria’s Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Prof. Attahiru Jega, Monday read the   riot act   to Nigerian politicians who have started campaigns ahead of the 2015 general elections, saying their names are already being compiled for possible sanctions. Jega, who disclosed this while fielding questions during a  live television  programme monitored in Lagos, said it had become nauseating to see politicians breach the Electoral Act, which stipulates that candidates can only begin campaign 90 days to an election. He described this act as impunity on the part of the politicians, recalling that  political parties  in the country had earlier voluntarily signed a code of conduct, among other things, and promised not to overheat the polity. He said, sadly, the same agreements signed to by the politicians are breached recklessly by the politicians belonging to the same parties.
