Sunday night's show only drew 5.9 million viewers - the lowest ever X Factor loses another million viewers as only 5.9 million watch Sunday night's show X Factor had a disappointing start to this year's series, with just 5.9 million people tuning into Sunday night's show - over one million LESS than Saturday's premiere episode. According to initial figures, numbers for the show dipped below six million last night. On Saturday there was an average of 7.11 million for the launch show, meaning 1.2 million didn't come back for the second X Factor visit of the weekend.

Immediate past Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Chief Godswill Akpabio, has been admitted at the National Hospital Abuja after being involved in a motor accident this morning. Akpabio His siren-blaring convoy was said to have crashed into other vehicles, with the former governor sustaining injury. The extent of his injury was not disclosed by the doctors at the National Hospital, who claimed that it was the family that had the right to do so.

57,000 Nigerian refugees in Cameroon, Chad, Niger – NEMA

A total of 57,743 Nigerians are living as refugees in various camps in the Republics of Cameroon, Chad and Niger, the National Emergency Management Agency has said. According to NEMA, the Nigerian refugees live in eight different camps in Cameroon, four in Niger and in two locations where they take shelter in Chad.

APC accused of subverting PDP victory

The main opposition political party, the People's Democratic Party (PDP) has accused their ruling counterpart of All Progressives Congress (APC) of using illegal means to thwart victory in Rivers and Akwa-Ibom states. PDP National Publicity Secretary, Chief Olisa Metuh denounced the APC of using state security agencies to subvert the victory their rival party achieved in the governorship election for Rivers and Akwa-Ibom States.
