Obama: Trump’s ‘lack of preparedness’ to be prez will hurt world

Image
President Obama on Sunday doubled down on his belief that Donald Trump is wildly unprepared to be the nation’s commander-in-chief, listing off a litany of foreign policy-related reasons how the mogul’s lack of understanding of international politics could damage the world and suggesting that some of his harsh rhetoric was even helping terrorist groups like ISIS. Trump’s suggestion that the U.S. could refuse to defend its allies in NATO unless they pay their fair share of the costs were a prime example of the GOP nominee’s “lack of preparedness” on foreign policy, Obama said in an interview with CBS’ “Face the Nation.” "I think that anybody who's been paying attention knows there is a big difference between challenging our European allies to keep up their defense spending, particularly at a time when Russia's been more aggressive, and saying to them, 'You know what? We might not abide by the central tenant of the most important alliance in the history of th

Game of Thrones season 6 blooper reel proves laughs can be had in Westeros

Image
Including Emilia Clarke struggling with Dothraki and Kit Harington having fun as Jon Snow's corpse You'd be forgiven for thinking it was all politics and war in the world of Game of Thrones but a new blooper reel has come along to destroy that notion in a hilarious manner. Surfacing during the HBO series' panel at this year's San Diego Comic-Con 2016, the assembled cast (including Sophie Turner, Liam Cunningham and Iwan Rheon) watched on as attendants laughed their way through a two-minute clip of the cast blundering their way through the hectic shoot of season six. Highlights include Kit Harington larking about as Jon Snow's corpse, Emilia Clarke (Daenerys) struggling her way around the Dothraki language - atop a greenscreen dragon, of course - and Peter Dinklage (Tyrion) simply struggling with the English word 'benevolent.' It's reassuring to know that even Emmy award-winning actors screw u p from time to time.

Trump adviser claims anti-Semitic retweet was a mistake

Image
The adviser doesn’t fall far from the Trump tree. Following in the footsteps of Donald Trump’s anti-Semitic tweets, Lt. General Michael Flynn, a vice presidential runner-up and key adviser to the billionaire’s campaign retweeted a post with a similar hateful message. “Not anymore, Jews. Not anymore,” the now-deleted retweet by Flynn wrote. The retired general claimed it was an accident, and meant to only retweet the story that was attached to the post, not the anti-Semitic commentary that came with it. “All, this is what was meant to be retweeted... the earlier retweet was a mistake. My sincerest apologies,” Flynn wrote shortly after deleting the hateful message. The original tweet was a quoted post of a CNN Politics segment with a Hillary Clinton manager commenting on the Democratic National Convention leak. Trump might have dodged a bullet by choosing Indiana governor Mike Pence over Flynn after this social media fiasco. But, Flynn’s Twitter strategy appeared to follow the Trump me

Kim Kardashian, Calvin Harris pose for photo together

Image
This will probably strike a sour note with Taylor Swift. Kim Kardashian and Calvin Harris — who have both feuded with the pop star in recent weeks — posed for a photo together Saturday in Las Vegas. The two stars were also pictured with pop star Jennifer Lopez and rapper French Montana, who uploaded the image to his Instagram page. Kardashian, 35, is holding a cake in the photo, presumably for J. Lo, who celebrated her 47th birthday on Saturday. The "Keeping Up with The Kardashians" star was on hand for Lopez's performance in Sin City, while Harris was partying on the Strip, TMZ reports. Both Harris and Kardashian have made headlines this month after firing shots at Swift in a pair of separate incidents. Harris, 32, unleashed a fuming Twitter rant against his ex-girlfriend after she took credit for writing his smash hit "This Is What You Came For" less than two months after their breakup. "Hurtful to me at this point that her and her team would go so far

Sunday Oliseh rants again: Reveals Near-Death Experience, blasts Amaju Pinnick, Mikel Obi and Vincent Enyeama

Image
The former Super Eagles captain and midfielder still feels angry at the way he left the coaching role of the Super Eagles in February and the negative perception Nigerian football lovers have of him and has now blasted the NFF president Amaju Pinnick , executive committee member Christopher Green and players like Mikel Obi and Vincent Enyeama. In a long revealing article written on his website Sundayoliseh.tv and titled “My Recent Near Death Experience As Coach Of Nigeria,' the FIFA technical committee member said his mind in it's entirety. Very revealing! “One day whilst coaching the super Eagles in Abuja stadium prior to the Burkina Faso game I all of a sudden felt dizziness, light headedness, headache and could barely stand,” Oliseh narrated. “I managed to finish the session before calling on the doctor into my room who was clueless to what was happening.“From then on it was sleepless nights, loss of appetite, high blood pressure and before I knew it I started losing weig

Syrian refugee kills pregnant woman, injures 2, in machete attack

Image
A 21-year-old Syrian refugee was arrested after killing a woman with a machete and injuring two other people in the southern German city of Reutlingen on Sunday, but the attack had no apparent connection to terrorism, police said. The asylum-seeking Syrian man had been involved in previous incidents causing injuries to other people, and was apparently acting alone, a police spokesman said. The spokesman had no immediate information on when the man arrived in Germany, or when the previous incidents took place. "There is no danger to anyone else at this time," he said. "Given the current evidence, there is no indication that this was a terrorist attack," police said in a statement. It was the fourth act of violence against civilians in western Europe — and the third in southern Germany — in 10 days. Two of the attacks were claimed by Islamic State militants. In Sunday's incident, the Syrian man attacked two women and a man at around 4:30 p.m. (1430 GMT) near the

Clinton’s Campaign Alleges a Pro-Trump Russia’s Part in DNC Email Leak

Image
Emails are, once again, the bane of the Democratic Party’s existence. The controversy over WikiLeaks’ release of 19,000 emails allegedly sent from DNC officials showing an anti-Bernie Sanders pro-Hillary Clinton bias has snowballed to ginormous proportions. Hillary Clinton’s campaign manager Robby Mook told CNN’s Jake Tapper on “State of the Union” Sunday that he believes pro-Donald Trump forces in Russia are behind it. “I don’t think it’s coincidental that these emails were released on the eve of our convention here, and I think that’s disturbing,” Mook said. Mook believes that Trump’s position on NATO — that it wasn’t a given that he’d assist allies — would help Russia’s stance in Eastern Europe. “I think when you put all this together, it’s a disturbing picture, and voters need to reflect on that,” Mook said. Needless to say, Trump’s senior communications adviser Jason Miller laughed it off, as did Donald Trump Jr. on “State of the Union.” “These lies and the perpetuating of nonse

Serena Williams Injury: Updates on Tennis Star's Shoulder and Return

Per the Coupe Rogers' official Twitter account, Williams has withdrawn from the tournament as a result of her shoulder injury. Over the last few years, Williams has focused on being prepared for the four Grand Slams, with the Games also a top priority this year. At first, I wanted to believe that he was misrepresented, and that it was not the vein in which he meant what the media

Nigerians Already Counting Days for APC’s Exit from Power - PDP

Image
The opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, yesterday declared that Nigerians are eager to have the party back in power at the national level because of the biting scarcity, hardship and poverty in the land. Spokesman of the Ahmed Makarfi-led Caretaker Committee, Dayo Adeyeye who spoke to journalists in Abuja yesterday said Nigerians are already counting days for the All Progressives Congress, APC, because they want this government to go. Adeyeye said: “They want PDP to come back to power. In the days of the PDP’s 16 years in power, it was a time of plenty and we have seen one year of scarcity, hardship and poverty in the land. It is obvious that Nigerians are not happy with the present state of affairs; so they are eager to have PDP back. “People are already counting days for the APC because they want this government to go and PDP is poised to take over power but we need to do the needful, organise a transparent convention to bring in the right men and women to take over the operat

THE COURT BATTLE FOR BIAFRA

Image
On September 13, 2012, the Supreme Council of Elders of Indigenous people of Biafra (SCE) issued a legal instrument that initiated proceedings at the Federal High Court, Owerri, which authorized Bilie Human Rights Initiative, a body attached to the Indigenous Peoples Of Biafra, IPOB to take action against the Federal Republic of Nigeria on behalf of the remnants of Biafrans who were not consumed in the war of 1967 -1970. The intervention was propelled by the compelling need to ensure that the agitation by the youths for Biafran independence, which has been ongoing since 1999 was conducted lawfully. According to the Deputy Chairman of the Council, Dr Dozie Ikedife, the “elders invoked their powers under customary law to organize, direct, manage and control their children, so that the independence struggle would follow due process of law.” The head of the Customary Law Government of IPOB is His Royal Majesty & His Lordship, The Honourable Justice Eze Ozubu, OFR, who is a retire

JUSTICE FOR THE DEAD

Image
IT has been 14 years since Chief Ajibola Ige, former Attorney General of the Federation, who was known as the Cicero of Esa Oke was shot dead with a single bullet in the chest region in his home at Bodija, Ibadan, about 9pm on December 23, 2002. The incident was said to have occured after he went upstairs to rest, while his security men had gone out to have dinner. The gunmen were probably lurking around the place waiting for an opportune moment, and that came when the security men stepped out of the premises. The gunmen stormed the house, overpowered and tied up members of the family and then asked one of them to lead them upstairs to the bedroom of Ige. They locked up his wife, Atinuke, (who is now deceased) and his daughter in an adjoining room. With all the family members all confined, the assassins then burst into his room where a single shot was fired into his heart. They left him writhing in pains on the floor in the throes of imminent death as they made their getaway from the
