Court Okays Re-trial Bola Tinubu for Gruesome Murder of Funsho Williams

Nigeria - A Federal High Court in Lagos yesterday okayed the re-list of a suit seeking the prosecution of National Leader of All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu and others over the gruesome murder of late Funsho Williams, Daily Independent reports.  Williams, a former governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State was murdered at his residence in Lagos in June 2006.

Courts nullify arrest warrant against Kashamu, blast NDLEA

Two judges of a Federal High Court in Lagos on Monday quashed the provisional warrant of arrest obtained against Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Senator-elect for Ogun East Senatorial District, Prince Buruji Kashamu. Justice Okon Abang, while ruling on a fundamental rights enforcement suit brought by Kashamu to enforce the court’s earlier judgement barring the NDLEA from extraditing him to the United States of America for drug related offences, held that NDLEA fraudulently secured the warrant of arrest by concealing fact.

National Assembly Locked Down, Armed Men Take Over

The inauguration of the 8th National Assembly is scheduled to hold today, June 9 and its now hanging in the balance as the complex is reportedly locked down and workers, guests have been denied entrance. According to The Nation report, all access gates were locked and security operatives were said to be manning them, preventing workers and guests of lawmakers that were at the National Assembly early this morning from gaining entrance to the complex, though no lawmaker was seen around the gate.
