#AskThicke Goes All The Way Wrong As Twitter Drags Robin Thicke

The #AskThicke hashtag went hilariously wrong when all of Twitter sank its fangs into  Robin Thicke. Not since #AskDraya have we witnessed a social media campaign backfire on this scale. In the windup for Robin’s latest album release,  Paula , VH1 decided to hold a fan-generated interview for the crooner. A rep for the network prompted, “Have a burning question for @robinthicke? Submit your ?s for tomorrow’s Twitter Q+A using #AskThicke!”

Serena Williams Drops Out of Wimbledon Due To Virus

A mystery illness has taken  Serena Williams  out of the game at Wimbledon. The tennis champ was devastated to check out of the competition early after suffering symptoms that left her disoriented on the court. According to ABC News, Serena was showing signs of trouble early on as she had a hard time handling the ball during warm ups for her doubles match today. Supposedly, she was having difficulty bouncing, catching, and serving. Serena wound up double faulting four times in a row; eventually she had to quit after just three games. Serena almost didn’t make it onto the court this morning as she consulted with Wimbledon medics just moments before the match began. Despite being under the weather, she opted to play anyway.

JAMB pegs cut-off marks for Universities at 180.

The Federal Government in consultation with the Joint Admission and Matriculations Board (JAMB) and other stakeholders have pegged the cut-off marks for 2014 admissions into Universities at 180, while Polytechnics and Colleges of Education(COE)were placed at 150 respectively. The cut off points were arrived at yesterday, after the 5th Combined Policy meeting on admissions to tertiary institutions held at the National Universities Commission, where the Supervising Minister of Education, Chief Nyesom Wike, also disclosed that the Federal Government is putting necessary structures in place to fully entrench computer literacy and Computer Based Test (CBT) at all level of Education in the country. Wike further frowned at the inability of most tertiary institutions to utilize their admission quota, and urged them to ensure admission spaces in their schools are adequately utilized. The two clubs remain £20million apart at the moment Liverpool and Barcelona are understood to be £20million apart as they begin  transfer talks over Luis Suarez . Liverpool chief executive Ian Ayre is meeting a Barcelona delegation, led by technical director Raul Sanllehi, in London today to discuss Suarez's move to the Nou Camp. Liverpool value Suarez at £80million because they feel he has proved he is one of the world's best strikers  with his 31 Premier League goals last season . Barcelona feel that figure is too high  because of his four-month ban for biting Italy's Giorgio Chiellini  and they will argue the striker is worth £60million. The Catalans  want to include Alexis Sanchez in the deal and they value the Chile World Cup forward at £32million.

Lagos bans use of sirens

  The Lagos State Government has banned the indiscriminate and unlawful use of sirens in the area. The State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Ade Ipaye, announced the ban in a notice issued to remind the general public, especially drivers and other road users in the state, on the use of siren.   Ipaye said that the use of siren and other noisy devises in vehicles are prohibited under the Lagos State Road Traffic Law. He noted that the only exception allowed by the law is in respect of vehicles in use for emergency purposes, such as ambulances, fire engines and law enforcement vehicles on urgent call. All dead in Kenya plane crash, police say

  At least four people died when a cargo plane crashed into a building shortly after takeoff on Wednesday from the Kenyan capital's main airport, the busiest in east Africa, aviation authorities said. "A Fokker 50 cargo plane with four people on board has this morning crashed at a commercial building," after taking off from Nairobi's Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), Kenya Airports authority said in a statement. The plane crashed before dawn on Wednesday, a time when the building would be expected to be largely empty. An AFP photographer at the scene said the plane had smashed into a low-rise building containing small stores and shops, about 3km from the airport. Police sources said all on the plane were dead. "All four on board perished... it hit an electric post before crashing on a building and bursting into flames," a senior police officer said.
