Here's who's presenting on Oscar on Sunday

We all know that Ellen Degeneres is going to be the presenter at the Oscars, but now the Oscars presenters have been revealed. And, spoiler alert, there's some cracking actors tipped to appear, from BAFTAs no-shows Benedict Cumberbatch and Jennifer Lawrence, to Brad Pitt and Angelina (scream!), and Bradley Cooper.  Getty To be fair, a lot of the presenters are no big surprise, as many are nominated, a few unexpected appearances give an indication as to who will be appear on the red carpet. So roll on Brangelina, Emma Watson and Anne Hathaway, we're looking forward to seeing what you're wearing (unless you do an Emma Stone at the Golden Globes and don't walk the red carpet). 

Kanye gets emotional on stage talking about his mum

It's not often that  Kanye West  says something that makes you go, 'awww', but the rapper came over all emotional on stage during a recent show, and he gave a touching speech about his baby daughter Nori. Getty Images The 36-year-old was Mr. Sensitive during the  Yeezus  gig in Connecticut, where instead of his usual ranty behaviour,  Kanye West  told fans that he wished his mother Donda was still alive to meet his daughter.

Amunike is new Eaglets coach

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has confirmed the appointment of Emmanuel Amunike as the new head coach of the Nigerian male Under-17 national team, the Golden Eaglets. Amunike This disclosure was made by the head of the NFF’s technical committee, Emmanuel Ikpeme who stated that that Amunike’s appointment was borne out of the need for continuity, since Amunike was an assistant to Manu Garba who led the Golden Eaglets to win the World championship last year. “We have opted for continuity because these coaches are highly experienced and qualified to continue with the progress we are making,” Emmanuel Ikpeme told BBC Sport. “We’ve had a couple of disappointing experiences in the past and it was felt that we couldn’t take the same route again. “Amuneke has transformed from a great player to one of the finest youth coaches in Africa and we believe he deserves his under-17 role as well,” he added.

Nokia veers into android family, targets emerging markets

At the ongoing GSM Mobile World Congress holding in Barcelona, Spain, the Finish mobile phone vendor, Nokia disclosed that it would take the android route. Stephen Elop, the Executive Vice President of Nokia Devices & Services, while unveiling Nokia X, the Nokia X+, and the Nokia XL mainly for emerging markets Monday at the Mobile World Congress described as “running Android apps with Nokia’s user experience and a wide array of Microsoft services”. Explaining why it supported the rival OS, Elop said that, “Building on the Android OS means having access to hundreds of thousands of apps right out of the box”. Similarly, alongside the major news about the X family, Nokia also announced new affordable handsets from its existing stable, the Nokia 220 and Asha 230 respectively.

Death toll from Yobe girls college massacre rises to 43

The death toll from a school massacre in Yobe by suspected Boko Haram Islamists on Tuesday has risen to 43, a hospital source in the troubled northeastern Yobe state said. “Ambulances have been bringing in bodies from Federal Government College in (the town of Buni Yadi,” a senior medical source at the Sani Abacha Specialist Hospital in Yobe’s capital Damaturu told AFP. “So far 43 bodies have been brought and are lying at the morgue,” he said, requesting anonymity as he was not authorised to discuss death tolls. Yobe’s police chief Sanusi Rufai told AFP that 29 people were killed but it was not immediately clear if all of the dead were students. Rufai said he was en route to Buni Yadi with Yobe’s covernor Ibrahim Geidam to assess the extent of the damage.

BREAKING NEWS: SANUSI DRAGS JONATHAN BEFORE ABUJA FED HIGH COURT OVER SUSPENSION

The suspended Governor of the Central  Bank of Nigeria , CBN, Malam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, has filed a suit before a Federal High Court seating in Abuja challenging his suspension from office. It would be recalled that the President had yesterday justified his suspension of Sanusi by saying 'I have absolute power to suspend him". In a related matter, controversial former minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Malam Nasir Elrufai, who was very prominent at the head of the welcoming party that awaited Sanusi after his return from Niger Republic last week, has admitted that he did receive a majo contract from the CBN under Sanusi via his firm, Elrufai and Partners. Elrufai made the  admission  on Camera in an interview now circulating on the Internet. His admission came after it was exposed that his anger over Sanusi's suspension may have been as a result of fear of losing this patronage.

Robin Thicke  and  Paula Patton  have split after eight years of marriage. The  Blurred Lines  singer and  Baggage Claim   actress were rumoured to be on the rocks following Thicke's controversial performance with Miley Cyrus at the VMAs, a photo showing Thicke with his hand on a woman's behind, and a report that claimed Thicke cheated on Patton at a party. "It has been a long time coming," a source told  Us Weekly .

WhatsApp Goes Down Following $19 Billion Facebook Buy-Out

Last week Facebook  announced  that it is acquiring the messaging company WhatsApp for an approximate total of $16 billion. Included in the deal is $4 billion in cash, $12 billion of Facebook shares and an extra $3 billion in restricted stock units which will be granted to WhatApp’s founders and employees. In spending so much money you can only imagine Mark Zuckerberg’s frustration when, on Saturday afternoon WhatsApp went down for over three hours, leaving its users unable to access the app. WhatsApp was quick to respond to the issue and announced that it was suffering from “server issues”. However after the prolonged period of time users took to  Twitter  to vent their frustrations, with some comments saying: “Mark Zuckerberg please do us a favor. Never buy Twitter,” and, “Thanks Zuckerberg for re-uniting families tonight!”

Gunmen kidnap Jonathan’s adopted father in Bayelsa

President Jonathan. Inset: Nitabai Some unknown gunmen have abducted President Goodluck Jonathan’s cousin, Chief  Inengite Nitabai, in Otuoke, Bayelsa State. Otuoke is the home state of President Jonathan and Nitabai is the President’s adopted  father . Nitabai, who is said to be the compound chief of Jonathan’s family, was abducted by 10 suspected kidnappers about 9pm on Sunday. It was learnt that when the gunmen stormed the residence of the 70-year-old Nitabai, they initially met one of the victim’s children. A reliable family source, who craved anonymity, said the boy, whose name he gave simply as Silas, quickly ran into the house to alert his father and other members of the family because it was strange to see visitors at the time of the day. The source explained that six of the assailants, however, forced their way into the house, while the remaining four stayed outside. He said the suspected kidnappers ordered Nitabai, his wife, Owiya, Nitabai’s inlaw, Akinobebh

'Ghostbusters' star Harold Ramis dies

Harold Ramis not only may be the most successful comedy writer-director that Chicago has produced, but some wouldn't even confine that statement to Chicago. “Harold was clearly the most successful comedy writer-director of all time,” said Tim Kazurinsky, who followed Ramis at Second City and later became his friend. “The number of films that he has made that were successful, that were blockbusters, nobody comes close. Even in light in of that, he was more successful as a human being.” Ramis' career was still thriving in 1996, with “Groundhog Day” acquiring almost instant classic status upon its 1993 release and 1984's “Ghostbusters” ranking among the highest-grossing comedies of all time, when he decided to move his family back to the Chicago area, where he grew up and had launched his career.

Sanusi: Jonathan orders audit of CBN’s accounts…FRC report in 6 weeks

SECRETARY to the Government to the Federation Anyim Pius Anyim has asked the  Financial Reporting  Council of Nigeria (FRCN) to audit the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). Acting on President Goodluck  Jonathan ’s directive, Anyim gave the FRCN six weeks to do job. The audit is to examine the books showing how suspended CBN Governor Sanusi Lamido Sanusi has run the apex bank. Sanusi was suspended last Thursday for alleged “misconduct” and “financial recklessness”. He denied any wrongdoing, challenging his accusers to open the books.
