Lady Gaga music video with R Kelly and Terry Richardson scrapped and branded an 'ad for rape'

Image
Gaga writhes around naked and R Kelly tells her she will wake up pregnant Leaked footage of  Lady Gaga ’s scrapped video “Do What U Want” has emerged online, with a scene that appears to condone rape. Directed by controversial photographer Terry Richardson , “Do What U Want” features a scene in which  R Kelly , who plays Gaga’s predatory doctor, tells the singer: “I’m putting you under, and when you wake up, you’re going to be pregnant.” R Kelly is then seen reaching under Gaga’s hospital sheets as she moans. He is heard saying “sounds like that medicine’s starting to kick in”, before she passes out on the operating table. In another clip from the video, which has been branded an “ad for rape”, Gaga asks Kelly if she’ll ever be able to walk again – a reference to her real-life hip injury – to which he says: “Yes, if you let me do whatever I want with your body”, the  New York Post’s Page Six reports. Villagers in Gwarimpa protest demolition of their homes

Image
Residents of Lungu Village in Adkan Estate, Gwarimpa, Abuja on Thursday went on a protest on the Kubwa Expressway, setting bonfires on the road as unsuspecting road users got stranded. Some residents of the area who spoke to the media said they were protesting because of the demolition carried out by the Department of Development Control in the village. Charles Oputa (Charlie Boy), a popular entertainer who resides in Gwarimpa, said that it was wrong for government to embark on the exercise without sensitising the villagers. “If government wants to embark on this kind of exercise, there is the need to get the people psychologically prepared.” “You can see I have been pleading with them to stop the protests and open the roads to no avail; it is understandable because what happened today is very painful,” Oputa said. Sanni Geoffrey, a Gbagyi youth leader who was at the scene, said that the road would not be opened until the president came to address the injustice on his people.

500 000 kids in Mali at risk of malnutrition

Image
Nearly 500 000 children under the age of five in Mali are at risk of acute malnutrition and 1.5 million people don't have enough to eat, the director of UN humanitarian operations said on Thursday. John Ging, who spent three days in Mali last week, said at a news conference Thursday that the people of Mali need more help to confront the "very grave" humanitarian situation. He appealed to donors for additional funds, saying the U.N. has received just $135m — or 24 percent — of the $568m it needs for Mali this year. "The situation is extremely fragile," Ging said. "It's already negative and it can get a lot worse." Northern Mali fell under control of ethnic Tuareg separatists and then al-Qaeda-linked Islamic extremists following a military coup in 2012. A French-led intervention last year scattered the extremists, but the Tuaregs have pushed back against the government based in southern Bamako. Last month, the Tuaregs regained control of the key

Messi wants more offensive Argentina

Image
Argentina captain Lionel Messi believes coach Alejandro Sabella has to back his side's attacking capabilities and include him among a front three when they face Iran on Saturday in Belo Horizonte. Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain is expected to return to Sabella's starting line-up as the two-time winners look to seal their place in the second round of the World Cup with a victory over Iran. Higuain came on as a substitute to set up Messi to score just his second ever World Cup goal as Argentina got their campaign off to a winning start against Bosnia and Herzegovina in Rio on Sunday. And Messi said he feels more comfortable playing with both Higuain and Sergio Aguero in attack. "We are Argentina and I think we need to concentrate on ourselves without fixating on who we are playing," said the four-time World Player of the Year. "We feel more comfortable with two up front and me behind because it makes it easier to counter-attack and, because we have mor
