A user called pradnesh07 posted on Reddit that the feature had been activated in their WhatsApp. But the post has since been removed .

Striking Lawyers Shut Down Ministry of Justice

Striking lawyers of the Federal Ministry of Justice Monday morning shut down the ministry’s headquarters in Abuja. The lawyers barricaded the five-story complex, in addition to blocking the Shehu Shagari Way, the main road linking the Transcorp Hilton hotel and the Federal Secretariat. This is the first recorded case of strike by lawyers in Nigeria’s Ministry of Justice.

Winners Chapel denies allegation against Oyedepo

The Living Faith Church, popularly known as Winners Chapel, on Sunday dismissed reports that its founder, Bishop David Oyedepo, vowed to unleash the gate of hell on anybody who opposed the re-election of President Goodluck Jonathan. Jonathan visited the headquarters of the church in Ota, Ogun State on Sunday, January 25. The presidential rally of the Peoples Democratic Party scheduled to hold in Damaturu, Yobe State has been cancelled. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress, APC, also cancelled his scheduled campaign trip to Maiduguri for undisclosed reasons without making his new date for the trip public. The rally which was supposed to hold after a similar meeting in Gombe was however called off at the last minute. Though no reason was given for the cancellation, Vanguard gathered that the rally was shelved due to unfavourable security report about the proposed rally.

Amid pressure, INEC extends PVC collection to Feb 8

Due to pressure and protests from Nigerians, the Independent National Electoral Commission has extended the deadline for collection of Permanent Voter Cards to Sunday, February 8, 2015. This new date is contained in a statement on Sunday by the Chief Press Secretary to the national chairman of the commission, Kayode Idowu. Idowu, who explained that the new date supersedes the earlier deadline of Saturday, January, 31, also disclosed to The PUNCH that INEC had received the last batch of 3.4 million PVCs.
