borno-boko-war Fresh massacre in Borno

Image
In what appeared like a vengeance mission, suspected Boko Haram insurgents launched heavy attack on a military barrack in Maiduguri, Borno State capital, yesterday leaving  scores  including civilians, military troops and many of the insurgents dead. Rumour was rife in the metropolis that some insurgents who fled the Zambisa  camp  after military raid last week have threatened to attack the state capital this weekend. The insurgents however made their threat real as they unleashed terror on Giwa Barrack of the 21 Armoured Brigade in the early hours of yesterday. Some civilians who were killed around the barrack were reportedly hit by stray bullets.

Nigerian  security forces , and members of a local vigilante  commonly called Civilian JTF, killed at least 207 Boko Haram militants who launched a daring attack on a military barracks and other government installations in Borno state. Members of the civilian-JTF said they counted at least 207 corpses of suspected Boko Haram members killed after about five hours of what could be described as the deadliest attack by the extremist Boko Haram sect on Maiduguri. Reports quoted a  leader of the vigilante identified as Abdullahi as saying that his members counted more than 200 bodies of suspected insurgents in one area where the fighting took place, and said there would be more bodies in the bush. The group said the figure comprised of the attacking members of the Boko Haram and the other members freed from the military cells within Giwa barracks.

It was getting dark in the evening and Zainab Mohammed had just taken a bend through a footpath path at Kuzari going to her house in Lukshi after attending the turbanning ceremony of the Ginbiya Lukshi in Dass   Local Government   Area of Bauchi State when she heard footsteps and whispers behind her in the bush. Then came three men like a bolt from the blue who accosted her. “I turned and asked them what they wanted from me and they said they wanted to follow me. I said follow me for what? What did I do to you that you want to follow me?  Do I owe you money that you want to follow me?  I told them to leave me alone. I don’t want my husband to hear that men were following me.  I told them to leave me alone but they refused,” she recalled while narrating  on her  hospital bed the pathetic story of how her assailants gang-raped and plucked her eyes about a fortnight ago.

Image
Feelers from Ilorin, indicate Senator Bukola  Saraki has put together a ‘ war chest ’ to stop his kid sister, Gbemisola from getting a ministerial spot. According to our source “ Bukola has vowed to do all within his powers to stop his sister, Gbemi” There have been speculations that Gbemi may be picked to represent Kwara in the President Goodluck Jonathan’s cabinet. Others being speculated are Governor Peter Obi, Ibrahim Shekarau, Dele Belgore  and Attahiru Bafarawa. But a campaign by Bukola, assisted by a section of the media and some All Progressive Congress’ APC top shots in Kwara  is  claiming   the Peoples’  Democratic Party  (PDP) would crack if Gbemi gets the states’ spot. They allege that Bola Shagaya, one of the rallying points of the party in the state who busted former sports minister, Bolaji Abdullahi, at that Ilorin rally, was not disposed to Gbemi because she is not a ‘team player”

The judge in the Rihanna beating case ordered Chris to live in the Malibu rehab facility for 90 days to get anger management therapy, and he completed the stint earlier this month.  BUT ... at the last court hearing, the judge modified things and ordered Chris to stay in the facility while the Washington D.C. assault case ran its course.
