Facebook launches Live – a Live Video streaming feature

Live is a but different as it’ll be only available to celebrities with a verified page for now.

At least 50% of NNPC management staff to go

As the efforts to reposition the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) continue, there are indications that about 50 percent of the top level officers of the corporation would be retired. An industry source told BusinessDay that most of the group general managers and managing directors of the corporation’s subsidiaries would be affected by the next wave of the exercise which started with the replacement of the group managing director.

President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered the commencement of the environmental clean-up of Ogoniland in the Niger Delta region, even as he inaugurated the Governing Council of the Hydrocarbon Pollution Restoration Project (HYPREP) as well as the Board of Trustees for the Trust Fund. Britain reaffirms support for Nigeria’s counter-insurgency operation

The British government has reaffirmed its commitment to help Nigeria end the menace of insurgency that has ravaged parts of the North East, a top British official has said. In a statement, the Acting Director of Defence Information, Rabe Abubakar, said the assurance was given by the British Deputy Chief of Defence Staff on Military Strategy and Operations, Gordon Messenger.

DPR shuts 100 fuel stations in Oyo, Osun

New group claims Saudi blast

  An allegedly new Islamic State affiliate in Saudi Arabia claimed responsibility for a suicide bombing at a mosque inside a police compound in the country's southwest on Thursday that killed at least 15 people, most of them members and recruits of the kingdom's special forces.
