The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) on Tuesday said 10 more corpses of deceased Nigerian pilgrims had been identified, bringing the number of pilgrims who died at Mina stampede, to 64.

Egbin Power Plant Adds 1,000MW To National Grid

The Egbin Power Plc, Nigeria’s largest generation plant, is now generating above 1,000mw consistently into the national grid, chairman of the company, Mr Kola Adesina, has revealed. Giving an update on the activities of the company in Lagos recently, Adesina noted that “this is the first time since inception of the power plant that it will achieve the feat because of the continuing investment and upgrade activities on the plant by the new investors – Sahara Power Group and Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO).”

Berlin: A 19-year-old girl was strangulated to death by her father after she was caught stealing condoms from a shop to have sex with her boyfriend. Asadullah Khan, 51, who hails from Pakistan, killed his daughter Lareeb on 28 January this year for bringing dishonour to the family.

Hajj stampede death toll climbs to 1,100

U.S. military launches airstrike on Kunduz after Taliban assault on key city

 The U.S. military carried out an airstrike Tuesday on the northern Afghan city of Kunduz one day after Taliban insurgents fought their way into the major city, driving back stunned security forces in a multi-pronged attack that saw Afghan and U.N. officials fleeing for their safety.
