Manchester United have made a transfer bid for Sadio Mane, according to Sky sources, but a Southampton official has said the winger will not be sold. Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho’s personal intervention sealed a £21.1m deal to buy Barcelona winger Pedro, ahead of Manchester United who also look likely to be rejected by Southampton in their pursuit of the Senegal international Sadio Mané. As things stand, Southampton are not interested in selling the 23-year-old Mané, who has three years left on his contract and is regarded as a key figure in their season. The talks between the clubs are not thought to have reached the point where an offer has been made, but Southampton do not believe that they have to sell,

A car bomb near an Egyptian state security building and courthouse wounded at least 29 people early on Thursday, state television said. Security sources who inspected the site of the blast in Shubra al-Khaima, a Cairo suburb, said there was a burned-out vehicle and crater. Comments on Twitter indicated the blast, which heavily damaged the face of the state security building, was heard in several parts of the Egyptian capital.

Nigeria may be heading towards introducing the use of virtual currencies for transactions as indications emerged Wednesday that plans were already mapped out to lay a solid foundation for a required regulatory climate that would guide its operations in the country. Virtual currency is a type of unregulated, digital money, issued and usually controlled by its developers, used and accepted among the members of a specific virtual community.

The group, which consists of indigenous companies responsible for natural gas and crude oil production, currently produces over 200,000 barrels of oil and over 900 million cubic of gas per day.
