Senator Musiliu Obanikoro The Nigerian Senate stepped down the ministerial confirmation hearing for Senator Musiliu Obanikoro today. The Senate did not give any reason the hearing was suspended or whether it was connected with the several petitions against his nomination.

The remains of the female politicians, who died in a ghastly auto accident have been laid to rest at the Bayelsa State cemetery, Azikoro in Yenagoa, the state capital. The Federal Government, Monday, scheduled to pay off about N264 billion between now and end of March, as subsidy reimbursement applications submitted to marketers as at end of January 2015. A breakdown showed that the sum comprises 2014 outstanding debts of N164 billion in addition to N100 billion derived from foreign exchange and bank interest charges. The decision was arrived at a crucial meeting with the Ministries of Finance, Petroleum Resources, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and oil marketers in Abuja on Monday at the instance of the Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala.

The Lagos State Peoples Democratic Pary (PDP) Governorship candidate, Jimi Agbaje, has said that Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State lied again on his company’s tax. According to him, for Fashola to say that he has now paid N500,000 is a lie. “There is no truth in this latest piece of misinformation that the Governor is spreading around. He lied again, giving the impression that my company paid money after his initial outburst and his first lie,” a statement by Agbaje said.
