Update: Omokore, Others, Plead not Guilty, Granted Bail

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Monday arraigned Jide Omokore , a business man and ally of former Petroleum Minster, Diezani Allison-Madueke, Victor Briggs, Abiye Membere, David Mbanefo, and Atlantic Energy Brass Development Limited and Atlantic Energy Drilling Concepts Limited. They were arraigned on 9-count charge bordering on money laundering. They appeared before Justice Binta Nyako of a Federal High Court, Abuja.

Money laundering: Fani-Kayode, ex-finance minister, 2 others get N1bn bail

A Federal High Court in Lagos on Monday granted a bail of N250 million each to a former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, and three others charged with money laundering. Fani-Kayode, who was also the Director of Media and Publicity in the campaign organisation of ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, was arraigned alongside a former Finance Minister, Nenadi Usman, and Danjuma Yusuf. Also charged with them is Joint Trust Dimension Nig. Ltd.

FULANI herdsmen have agreed with the Olomu Traditional Council in Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State, to vacate the kingdom for an interim period of two weeks beginning from June 25, to July 9 to enable the kingdom work out modalities for re-entrance in order to avoid further clashes.

EFCC arrests ex-Osun State deputy governor, Omisore

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested former deputy governor of Osun State, Senator Iyiola Omisore. Spokesman for the EFCC, Wilson Uwujaren, confirmed his arrest on Sunday. He said Omisore was arrested at his Abuja home by a team of EFCC operatives on Sunday morning. He was then taken into EFCC custody for questioning. Last month, the EFCC had declared him wanted in connection with a case of receiving and misappropriating the sum of over N700, 000,000.00 from the Office of the National Security Adviser, between June and November, 2014.

Suicide bomber hits near US diplomatic site in Saudi Arabia

 A suicide bomber carried out an attack early on Monday near a U.S. diplomatic site in the western Saudi city of Jiddah, according to the Interior Ministry. The ministry said the attacker detonated his suicide vest when security guards approached him near the parking lot of a hospital.
