Late Super Eagles striker Rashidi Yekini finally got his due yesterday, after the League Management Company announced that it has prize for the league’s highest goal-scorer after him. A statement from the chairman of the company, Mallam Shehu Dikko, disclosed that, in a few days, the Rasheed Yekini trophy for the highest goal scorer as part of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) Awards which the board approved at its meeting in June, will be unveiled.

(Shutterstock) Yaounde - Two bombs planted by suspected Boko Haram fighters went off at a bar in a northern town in Cameroon, killing at least 14 people, a military spokesperson said on Monday. Col. Didier Badjeck said three Chadian soldiers were among those killed on Sunday in Fotokol, a town on the border with Nigeria's Borno state. He said no Cameroonian soldiers were hurt.

Nigeria's President Buhari asks state oil company to review swap scheme: spokesman

 Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari has instructed the state-run oil company to review agreements behind a programme to swap crude for refined products, his spokesman said on Monday. Nigeria's anti-corruption agency and intelligence service began an investigation in May into whether the government was losing money through opaque contracts in which crude oil worth billions of dollars is given to traders in the exchanges.
