Nigerian billionaire Mike Adenuga has made a bid to buy Ivorian mobile telecoms operator Comium Cote d’Ivoire. According to Telegeography, Globacom, a Nigerian mobile telecoms operator owned by Adenuga, is lodging a $600 million takeover bid for Comium Cote d’Ivoire, a company that has been grappling with debt and cash flow problems. If the deal goes through, Globacom will have succeeded in extending its brand presence in West Africa. Already, the mobile telecoms operator has operations in Nigeria, Ghana and Benin Republic. President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari says he does not know how to tell Nigerians that he will not be able to turn the economy around quickly as promised. “The expectation is too high and I have started nervously to explain to people that Rome was not built in a day. Pacquiao sued over shoulder injury

Manny Pacquiao is the subject of a lawsuit in Nevada after being accused of lying over a shoulder injury sustained before his fight against Floyd Mayweather in Las Vegas. The Nevada Athletic Commission (NAC) says Pacquiao, 36, did not declare the injury on a pre-fight questionnaire. But the fighter says he was transparent and a treatment plan had been agreed. Two people in Nevada have alleged the boxer defrauded ticket buyers, television viewers and gamblers.
