4th Night of Ferguson Protests Brings Confrontation, Arrests

Police arrested nearly two dozen people in Ferguson during a fourth consecutive night of demonstrations marking the anniversary of the fatal shooting of 18-year-old Michael Brown. The gathering that stretched into early Tuesday morning came a day after a protest along West Florissant Avenue that was interrupted by gunfire and a police shooting that left an 18-year-old critically injured. The violence set the St. Louis suburb on edge and had protest leaders worried about whether tensions would escalate.

NIS bars 4,916 Nigerians from travelling

The Nigerian Immigration Service said it barred no fewer than 4,916 Nigerians from travelling out of the country between January and March, 2015. The service also said 758 Nigerians were refused admission abroad while 1,368 others were deported within the period, adding that it also refused entry to 12,152 foreigners without genuine reasons for visiting Nigeria.

Waec Withholds Results of 13 States

The West African Examination Council (WAEC), on Monday, released the May/June West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) results, withholding results of 13 states whose governments had defaulted in the payment of registration fees totaling N4.1 billion.
