The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Solomon Arase, has posted new Commissioners of Police to Lagos, Rivers and Ogun States. Abayomi Shogunle, Deputy Force Public Relations Officer, confirmed the deployments from the Force Headquarters in Abuja. Shogunle said the development is in line with the determination of the IGP to inject fresh ideas in the security architecture in those states and other Force Headquarters Formations.

US Records First Measles Death In 12 years

The United States of America has recorded its first death from measles, according to Washington State health officials. The woman’s measles was undetected and confirmed only through an autopsy, according to the Washington State Department of Health. The woman’s name was not released, but officials said she lived in Clallam County. Measles has surged back in recent years as groups of like-minded parents have opted against full vaccination for their children. Last year, 644 people contracted the virus.

CBN to sell N50.4bn Treasury bills

The Central Bank of Nigeria is planning to raise N50.4bn from the sale of new Treasury bills, data from the central bank has shown. According to the CBN, the TBs will have three-month and six-month maturities and will be sold at an auction on July 8. The bank said it would sell N25.40bn worth of the 91-day paper and N25bn of the 182-day debt, using the Dutch Auction System.
