Stephen Keshi will be sacked if he fails to reach the semifinals of the 2016 CAF championship for African players based at home (CHAN), according to reports. Keshi The 53-year-old former Nigeria captain signed a new 2-year contract to continue as the Super Eagles coach, but he may not have as much ‘liberty of performance’ as he did in his previous contract. Clause 4.1 of the contract states that: “The NFF shall employ the head coach for a period of two (2) years. “Provided in the unlikely event that the senior male national team (the Super Eagles) under the head coach fail to make it to the semifinals of the 2016 African Nations Championship (CHAN), the NFF in its absolute discretion may decide to terminate this present contract.”

APC NEC meeting underway, may finally agree on zoning formula on key national offices

 Meeting of the National Executive Committee, NEC, of the All Progressives Congress, APC was underway late last night. The meeting which held at the Rivers State Governor’s lodge located along Hassan Usman Katsina street, Asokoro Abuja was expected to rectify the zoning of offices in the incoming government. Senate presidency and speakership of the House of Representatives were among such offices which the meeting was expected to look into.

Ajaero, who addressed a news conference on Wednesday in Abuja, described Oshiomhole’s comments as "unhelpful, divisive and partial''. The governor had said on Monday that the rescheduled NLC election was transparent, free and fair.

Tijani, a Primary Six pupil, competed with 56 other contestants representing the 20 local government areas and 37 local council development areas in the state in the competition held in Ikeja. Ten-year-old Iretiola Ifaniyi, a Primary Five pupil of Methodist Primary School, Ibese, came second while 10-year-old Jonathan Arowodu of Akesan Primary School came third.

Chadian troops rescue 43 Boko Haram child soldiers

He said in N’djamena that the children, who are aged 12 and older and are Chadian nationals, were found in the Nigerian town of Damasak, in North-Eastern Borno.

Eatery worker sentenced to 266 years imprisonment for stealing N8m

A staff of popular eatery Sweet Sensation, Oluremi Olayinka pictured above has been sentenced to 266 years imprisonment by an Ogun state High Court for stealing N8 million from her employers. Her company petitioned the EFCC after she made away with N8million handed over to her by her employer. Olayinka was in May 2013 dragged before the court for the offence.

JUSUN in Anambra suspends 4-month-old strike - Chairman

Awka - The Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN), Anambra chapter, has suspended its four-month-old strike, according to the state Chairman of the union, Mark Ifezue. Ifezue said in an interview in Abuja on Wednesday that the suspension followed an agreement reached between the union and the state government to implement the judgment of January 14, 2014. Activities of the Nigerian courts were paralysed from January 5, 2015, when members of the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN) began their nationwide industrial strike which shut down courts' services across the country.
