50 Cent Wants To Work With Drake & Rihanna

Image
A new deal, a new album, a new 50 Cent? The G-Unit boss is preparing to release his fifth album, Animal Ambition: An Untamed Desire to Win, and he's looking to add a few new collaborations to his extensive resume. "I haven't worked with Drake or Rihanna, and I'd like to work with them," 50 told SiriusXM's Shade 45 at a special Town Hall interview, which aired Monday (March 31). "They're artists that do things I don't do. It's a different thing. So we have to find the right song for us to be working on with each other," he said. Fif is known for his versatility, transitioning with ease from "gangsta rapper" on tracks like "I Still Kill" to smooth "thug lover" on "Ayo Technology." But the veteran knows his lane. "I don't think anyone can beat Drake at creating relationship-based content," Fif said. Drake may hold it down for male artists, but when it comes to female solo artists

You read that correctly. The neo-soul army is strapped and tapped for an album that will be sure to quench your thirst for the funk. With the treasure trove of unreleased material that was found following the legends untimely death and his purchase of some highly coveted back catalogues, we’ve got our suspicions as to what will surface, but until then, let the guessing game begin! Keep it locked for more on this titanic collaboration and whet your pallet with D’angelo, Chuck

Chris Breezy Taken Into Custody By U.S Marshals

Image
He should have kept his hands to himself… According to People: Chris Brown is in federal custody, a spokeswoman for the U.S. Marshals confirms to PEOPLE, as the singer’s latest legal troubles move to Washington D.C. The federal authorities will transport Brown to the nation’s capitol for pre-trial hearings in an assault case, NBC News reports. Brown was in jail in Los Angeles after being ejected from a Malibu rehab facility on March 14 for violating the facility’s rules. The singer’s lawyer, Mark Geragos, had attempted Tuesday to block his transfer into U.S. Marshal custody, claiming that it would inhibit him from conferring with Brown prior to the trial, the Los Angeles Times reports.

Hunt for Malaysian plane heads underwater to find black box

Image
The search for missing Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 in remote seas off Australia headed underwater on Friday, with a U.S. Navy high tech "black box" locator deployed for the first time as the battery life of the cockpit data recorder dwindles. Australian authorities said the so-called Towed Pinger Locator will be pulled behind navy ship HMAS Ocean Shield, searching a converging course on a 240 km (150 miles) track with British hydrographic survey ship HMS Echo. "The area of highest probability as to where the aircraft might have entered the water is the area where the underwater search will commence," Retired Air Chief Marshal Angus Houston, the head of the Australian agency coordinating the operation, told reporters in Perth. "On best advice the locator beacon will last about a month before it ceases its transmissions so we're now getting pretty close to the time when it might expire."

Beyonce’s Half-Brother In A Homeless Shelter?

Image
Matthew Knowles’ illegitimate son Nixon and his mother Alexsandra Wright  is allegedly headed to a homeless shelter because they are struggling financially and no one (including Beyonce) from the Knowles family reached out to help. “Nixon deserves to know his family, and I hope one day he will meet his sister Beyoncé,”  Alexsandra told In Touch Magazine . Matthew’s child support payments were retroactively reduced from $14,000 to $2,400 a month therefore, he won’t have to make another payment for almost 2 years. “I can’t imagine how Beyoncé feels knowing she has a homeless brother,” Alexsandra says. “I know if I were in the same position, I would reach out. Maybe she is too busy.” Beyonce has yet to respond to the controversy and we have a feeling the whole situation is  the reason Tina Knowles filed for divorce from him   in the first place (but, that’s just us). Matthew is still in out “men ain’t ish pile.”

Five of the people killed in the operation were elderly men at a settlement called Rugan Abubakar Sodangi, along Keana-Giza road. *kills four 'defiant youth' Suspected Boko Haram insurgents are forcefully recruiting young men from Borno villages to fight for them, Daily Trust learnt from sources yesterday. The revelation came in the wake of Wednesday's killing of four people in Yasku village, close to Alagarno, a notorious breeding ground of Boko Haram fighters, located south of Jakana in Kaga local government area of Borno State. It is not yet clear if the four people were killed because they refused to join the terrorists group or for other reasons, but our correspondent learnt that they were killed around 2pm on Wednesday. A local from the area said, "Sometime ago, the insurgents had taken some of our children by force and left. This time, they came and there was no provocation in whatever form. The gunmen simply went to Yasku and shot dead the four harmless people. They also warned the locals not to bury the corpses. As I am talking to you now (yesterday)

NATIONAL CONFERENCE: SENATE BILL EMPOWERS JONATHAN TO PROPOSE NEW CONSTITUTION

Image
It’s a backdoor attempt to legitimise confab – Senators The Senate yesterday began considering a bill which is seeking to give President Goodluck Jonathan powers to propose an entirely new constitution from the report of the ongoing National Conference. The bill is contained in the report of the Senate Constitution Review Committee, submitted by its chairman, Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu. It seeks yet another amendment to section 9 of the 1999 Constitution to make a fresh provision for the introduction of an entirely new constitution by the President. But many senators who spoke during debate on the merits and general principles of the bill expressed stiff opposition to the new bill, describing it as a backdoor attempt to legalise the National Conference. They said the provisions of the bill are superfluous, unnecessary and ill-timed, and could spark public suspicion. Our correspondent reports that the Senate had in July last year amended section 9 of the 1999 Constitu

Nigeria auto manufacturing companies will produce 25,000 vehicles by the end of this year, while the new tariff regime for the automotive  industry will take effect from July 1. Director General of the National Automotive Council (NAC) Aminu Jalal disclosed this at a media roundtable  in Abuja yesterday.  Jalal said: “Manufacturers plan to produce 25,000 made in Nigeria vehicles by the end of 2014 and they will be given the concession to import two vehicles for every one produced to fill the gap that is likely to be created by the policy on the short run. “We have over 15 companies that are ready to commence the production of  ‘made in Nigeria cars’. We are also collaborating with the Standard Organisation of Nigeria (SON) on technical and quality audit that will ensure that what is produced in Nigeria is comparable to global best standards.” The  federal government launched the  National Automotive Policy  in October 2013 to ensure the survival, growth and development of the Ni

JONATHAN URGES WORLD LEADERS TO UNMASK TERRORISTS’ SPONSORS

Image
President Goodluck Jonathan President Goodluck Jonathan has said world leaders have the responsibility of unmasking those sponsoring terror groups. He said this in Brussels, the Belgian capital, yesterday at the commencement of the fourth European Union-Africa Summit.  The summit brought heads of state and government of the EU and Africa together. Jonathan wondered where terrorists got their sophisticated weapons from, saying no effort should be spared in holding their sponsors responsible for their actions. He said those sponsoring terrorists were determined to destabilise Africa, saying that a terror attack on one country was an attack on everyone. “The weapons of choice of these terror groups are the Small Arms and Light Weapons (SALW). Of recent, they’ve acquired the rapid propelled grenades and even surface-to-air missiles. Where do they get these sophisticated weapons?  The total value of what these terrorists possess as individuals, in terms of

Obama clears way for S Sudan sanctions

Image
Washington - President Barack Obama is warning that the United States may levy sanctions on individuals and entities involved in stoking violence and instability in South Sudan. Obama signed an executive order on Thursday clearing the way for possible visa bans and asset freezes. Officials said the move reflected White House frustration with the lack of progress in ending the violent clashes in South Sudan that broke out more than three months ago. "Those who threaten the peace, security or stability of South Sudan, obstruct the peace process, target UN peacekeepers or are responsible for human rights abuses and atrocities will not have a friend in the United States and run the risk of sanctions," the White House said in a statement. While no individuals or entities were actually sanctioned on Thursday, the executive order is necessary for the US to take that step. Officials said the European Union, Britain, Norway and the United Nations Security Council are also in the pr

6 dead, 10 500 homeless in Solomon floods

Image
Honiara - Flash flooding killed at least six people and left 10 500 homeless in the Solomon Islands' capital Honiara on Friday, with another 30 missing and the death toll set to rise, officials said. The government declared a state of emergency after the city's main river, the Matanikau, burst its banks late on Thursday, sweeping away entire communities, bringing down bridges and inundating the downtown area. "This is the worst disaster the nation has seen," the Solomons Star newspaper said. Save the Children's Solomons development programme director Rudaba Khondker described the situation as "dire". "This level of rain has never been experienced before in Guadalcanal (the island where Honiara is located)," she told AFP. Khondker said 16 evacuation centres had been set up in local schools to provide shelter for 10 500 homeless people, a huge proportion of the population in a city of only 70 000.

Buhari mourns Katsina terror victims

Image
Abuja - All Progressives Congress (APC) leader, General Muhammadu Buhari, has sympathised with the victims of the recent attacks in Faskari and Sabuwa Council area of Katsina State. He said the spate of attacks rocking part of the north was a grand ploy to destabilise Nigeria and urged residents of the area to help in unmasking those behind the attacks.  “They are trying to destabilise Nigeria, beginning with the north because they started with Borno and Kano. Now they got to Katsina and Kaduna,” said the former military head of state. The APC leader insisted that the attacks were pure terrorism and went beyond religion and ethnicity arguing that nobody was spared the killings. “Since the security agents have realised that the whole thing is arrogance, residents must unite and help in unmasking those behind these attacks,” Buhari said.

N9 Billion Loan fraud: Saraki lobbies CBN Ag Gov., Alade, Emefiele

Image
There are strong indications that the last has not been heard about the N8.115 Billion Intercontinental Bank loan obtained by Senator Bukola Saraki, but fraudulently written off by the Ex CEO, Mahmoud Alabi. According to another rogue banker and former Intercontinental Bank boss, Erastus Akingbola, in a petition to President Goodluck Jonathan, “He (Alabi) also wrote off loans totaling N32bn to friends of Dr. Saraki and Mallam Sanusi. All this, in a bank that they were meant to be rescuing. “All these written-off loans had been classified as ‘good’ and ‘performing’ by the CBN examiners, and had been secured with properties in Ikoyi (Lagos) Victoria Island (Lagos) and Abuja.”

Court Orders FG, Police To Pay Sanusi N50m

Image
A Federal High Court, Lagos has ordered the Federal Government, the State Security Service and the police to immediately release the passport unlawfully seized from the suspended Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria. The court, in a judgment delivered on Thursday, ordered the respondents, including the police, to pay N50m to Sanusi as exemplary damages for the unlawful detention and seizure of his passport. Justice Ibrahim Buba delivered the judgment in the fundamental enforcement suit instituted by Sanusi following his arrest, detention, and seizure of his passports on February 20. The judge, who earlier in his judgment, dismissed the respondents’ preliminary objection to the suit, held that the respondents, acting through the SSS “do not have power to forcefully withdraw and seize the applicant’s passport for any reason.”
