Coach Stephen Keshi to be paid N7 Million Per Month.

NFF offered coach Stephen  Keshi  an improved contract that will pay him seven million Naira a month  (over $44,000),  a top official has exclusively told AfricanFootball.com For his first contract, which ran out after the World Cup in Brazil, Keshi was on five million Naira monthly and has now demanded he be paid twice that amount. The coach, who was not considered for the vacant South Africa post, and the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) are expected to finalise a new deal next week. A top official who has been part of the contract talks informed that ‘Big Boss’ Keshi has said he wishes to continue as Nigeria coach “We have had meetings with Keshi and the good news is that he is willing to continue as coach of the Super Eagles,” the top official told AfricanFootball.com

PASSERBYS in the Nelson Mandela Square in Johannesburg were subjected to a spectacle earlier today when a woman stripped naked and hugged the statue of Madiba as a way of paying tribute to the icon.   Nelson Mandela, the world's most popular man over the last century, passed away in December last year and just before his death, a statue was erected in his honour. Placed in the Nelson Mandela Square in Johannesburg, the statue attracts a lot of visitors on a daily basis and a tourist resort has built up around it.   Today, a young African woman shocked other tourists and local people when she stripped stark naked and leant against the statue. According to staff working at nearby restaurants, the woman’s actions, caused a huge frenzy.   Male waiters got their orders wrong and a male customer was hit on the head by his wife for getting up to take a closer look. According to Sierra Leone’s Chief Medical Officer Brima Kargbo, Sierra Leone has lost its only viral haemorrhagic specialist in the face of this epidemic. The doctor was diagnosed with the virus last week. In a Reuters interview, the late 39-year old Khan had expressed fears for his life before being diagnosed. This was despite his wearing protective gear when treating patients. His fears corroborate a statement made in a CNN interview by Dr. Peter Piot, the first scientist to discover the virus in the 1970s. Ebola: Ambassador, 58 Others Had Contact With Dead Liberian

The Lagos State Government said on Monday that it had identified no fewer than 59 people who had contacts with the Liberian who died of Ebola Virus in the state, Mr Patrick Sawyer. Commissioner for Health, Dr Jide Idris, said at a news conference in Ikeja that the contact tracing became imperative to ascertain any possible transmission of the virus by the victim. Idris said the identified contacts comprised 44 hospital and 15 airport contacts, including the Nigerian Ambassador to Liberia. He said 20 of the contacts had been screened and that none of them had so far been found to be infected with the virus. He, however, said the contacts did not include those he might have been with on his flight to Nigeria on July 20, as the airline had yet to release the passenger manifest for investigation.

According to chief executive of the Commonwealth Games Federation, Mike Hooper, Amalaha tested positive to diuretics and masking agents, and she has been issued a formal notice of disclosure, following an adverse analytical finding as a consequence of the in-competition test. That athlete is Nigerian weightlifter Chika Amalaha, who was tested on July 25. That athlete has now been suspended from the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow,” Hooper said. In general terms, these substances are on the prohibited list for two reasons firstly in weight-category sports, they can be used to unfairly aid weight loss. and secondly, their use has been reported in attempts to mask the presence in the body of other prohibited substances.

El-Rufai’s Son Killed In Auto Crash

Former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, has lost one of his sons in a car crash. Hamza El-Rufai died Tuesday morning in Abuja. The former Minister and Chieftain of the All Progressive Congress, APC, broke the news on his faceboook page today. El-Rufai wrote: “From Allah, we came and to Him we shall return. Please join our family in praying for the repose of the soul of my son, Hamza El-Rufai who died in a motor accident in Abuja.” See more photo below:
