FG Names 13-Man Panel to Probe Yar'Adua, Jonathan

President Muhammadu Buhari, yesterday, set up a 13-member panel to probe two of his predecessors, late Umaru Musa Yar'Adua and Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, on procurement of arms and ammunition for the Armed Forces. The investigative committee's mandate is to identify irregularities and make recommendations for streamlining the procurement process in the Armed Forces.

Former Passenger Rail Agency of SA (Prasa) group CE Lucky Montana has come out swinging against Public Protector Thuli Madonsela’s report on maladministration at the parastatal. Speaking to Radio 702 on Tuesday morning‚ Mr Montana said Ms Madonsela was not a judge and that he would challenge for a review of her report in court.

Gov Lalong, Parradang At Aso Rock to Beg Buhari

Plateau State governor Simon Lalong yesterday took his kinsman and suspended comptroller-general of the Nigerian Immigration Service, David Parradang, to Aso Villa to plead with President Muhammadu Buhari. Parradang, a native of Plateau State, was last Friday suspended from office indefinitely over allegations of illegal recruitment exercise and the porous state of the Immigration Service.

FG to handover Abuja UN building in 6 months – Chukwu

The Federal Capital Territory permanent secretary, John Obinna Chukwu, has assured Ban Ki-Moon, UN secretary-general, of the commitment of the Federal Government to complete and handover the damaged United Nations Common Building in six months. The permanent secretary gave the assurance after the laying of wreath in honour of the victims that died in the unfortunate bomb attack on the UN House on August 26, 2011.

LIVERPOOL have lost out in their pursuit of Paris Saint-Germain full-back Lucas Digne in a blow that could have knock-on affects for Manchester United. The Reds were reportedly keen on left-back Digne, 22, who has been sidelined at PSG this summer. Manager Brendan Rodgers is seeking further defensive recruits, having overseen three clean sheets at the start of Liverpool's Premier League campaign. JAMB to commence sale of 2016 UTME forms on August 31

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) says arrangement has been concluded for the sale of its 2016 application documents. This is contained in a statement by the board’s Head of Information, Dr Fabian Benjamin and made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday in Lagos.
