Nigeria: NSCDC deploys 2,000 personnel for FCT elections

  The Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Abdullahi Muhammadu has approved the deployment of 2000 NSCDC personnel for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Election on Saturday, April 9 ,2016. Addressing Officers and Men of the Corps at the National Headquarters, Abuja on Wednesday, Muhammadu said keen attention will be given the forthcoming election as Abuja is the seat of power, and the conduct of election in the Federal Capital Territory should be a paradigm to all other elections in the country .

Wike sets up panel to probe Rivers poll violence

  Governor Nyesom Wike Okafor Ofiebor/Port Harcourt Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike on Wednesday swore in the Judicial Commission of Inquiry into the violence / killings that marred the March 19 rerun legislative elections, with a charge to the commission to get to the root of the matter. The investigation came amidst protests and accusation of insincerity and double standards levelled against Wike and Independent National Electoral Commission by the opposition party in the state.

The property was bequeathed to the Nelson Rholihlahla Mandela Family Trust by Mandela for the benefit of the Mandela family - including his third wife Graça Machel and her children. But Madikizela-Mandela claimed that the Qunu property was given to her by the tribal authority while Mandela was still in prison and that she had not anticipated that the land would be given to Machel.   AFP Manchester United have reportedly been offered the chance to re-sign Cristiano Ronaldo this summer for less than £50m. The 31-year-old's future at Real Madrid has been called into question this season, with some reports suggesting that he has already handed in a transfer request to force through a move. According to Spanish outlet Sport, Madrid are now prepared to let the striker depart the Bernabeu this summer as they plan a massive shakeup following a disappointing season in La Liga, where they sit seven points off leaders Barcelona with seven games remaining.

In a direct assault on Twitter’s live-streaming prowess, Facebook is rolling out the ability for all its 1.5 billion users to launch live videos on their timelines and added a slew of new features to encourage everyone to be a broadcaster. Facebook Live lets users stream real-time video in Groups and Events. Users can share live streams with their family or a workout plan with their fitness group, for instance.­ Live in Events, according to Facebook, means users can go live from a birthday party to allow those who couldn’t make it to join in the fun.
