Al Shabaab gunmen kill 14 in night attack on Kenyan workers

Al Shabaab gunmen killed 14 people, mostly quarry workers, in an overnight attack on a residential complex in northeast Kenya, officials said on Tuesday. The Islamist militant group said it had targeted Christians. Many died in their sleep, the Kenya Red Cross said. The raid, in the town of Mandera, mirrored one in the same county in December in which 36 quarry workers died. Al Shabaab has made a series of deadly incursions into Kenya, saying it will continue until Nairobi withdraws troops from an African Union force fighting the militants in Somalia.

APC Expels Former Gombe Goernor,Serving Senator For Anti-Party Activities

The Gombe State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has expelled a former Governor of the state, Senator Danjuma Goje from the party. Goje who is currently representing Gombe Central Senatorial District in the Nigerian Senate was expelled for anti-party activities. According to NIGERIAN EYE, State chairman of the party, Magaji Doho, said the former Gombe governor was expelled with effect from July 1, 2015. He said, ''Having gone through the rigours of campaigns and the 2015 general elections, some of our members, led by Senator Danjuma Goje, have decided to have parallel state executives of the party.

Chelsea to pay £11m a year to use Wembley Stadium
