A popular Accra-based fashion designer surprised her husband, Ernest Kofi Essah, 33 when she revealed that their 3 children belonged to her ex-boyfriend who is now her lover. Mr. Essah and his wife had been married for six years with three children who he thought were his. The first child is almost 5-years-old, the second is 3-years-old and the third child is nineteen months old. The shocked husband disclosed this during an interview on Asempa FM ‘s programme, “Abrabo” hosted by Maame Akua. According to him, his wife (name withheld) had stayed out late so he confronted her over the phone. This apparently did not go down well with the wife’s lover who she was with as he called Mr. Essah to scold him for calling the wife.

Gunmen Kill 18 In Adamawa, Plateau

Gunmen yesterday killed 11 people in Galga village in G’aunda District of Gombi local government area of Adamawa State while about seven people were also killed in Gero village of Jos South local government area of Plateau State. Less than 48 hours after gunmen struck at the border village of Izge in Borno State, killing 106 persons, another set of gunmen suspected to be  Boko Haram insurgents on Monday night   attacked  Galga village  in Ga’anda District of Gombi local government area of Adamawa State, killing 11 persons. An eye witness account said the gunmen in their numbers struck at the village at about 8:30pm and started shooting randomly in all directions leading to serious confusion as people scampered for safety. According to the eyewitness, the police only came to the village the next morning after the damage had been done.

TRAGEDY: JSS 3 Student Found Dead In Pool Of Water Around School

There was apprehension in Egor local government area of Edo State yesterday when a JSS 3 student of Useh Secondary School , simply identified as Osamudiamen was found dead in a pool of water around the school. When the news of his death came to the authorities of the school, both students and teachers raced to the scene to discover the lifeless body. A source at the school said that it happened at about 9am after six of the students left the school premises . “ Nobody knew where they went to. It was later that people started shouting, saying they saw one boy who drowned inside the water .

Based in Ivor in the southern state of Virginia, the church asks all its worshippers to cast off all their material concerns including clothing when they come to worship. Teen girl killed after prank goes wrong  A 15-year-old girl in  Little Rock , Arkansas, is dead, police say, because of a prank that went horribly and tragically wrong. Adrian Broadway was shot in the head and died early Saturday morning. She was with a group of teenagers who had gone to a house to do a "retaliation" prank on another teen who'd done a prank on them on Halloween, according to the Little Rock  Police Department .

Reps to FG: Deploy Chief of Army Staff to Borno

  Bothered by the seeming vulnerability of Boko Haram especially the killings in the past one week, the House of Representatives yesterday passed a motion urging the President to deploy his new Chief of Army Staffs, (COAS), Lt. Gen. Tobia Minnimah to Borno State. This, the lawmakers believed, would boost the war against Boko Haram insurgency in the North even as the Controller-General of Nigerian Prisons Service (NPS), Mr Zakari Ohinoyi Ibrahim, said yesterday in Calabar, Cross River State that 50 warders were killed by the Islamist sect to date. The group unleashed terror in Adamawa State on Monday, killing 11 people in a two-hour operation in Galga, Gaanda district in Gombi Local Government Area.

  The Controller-General of Nigerian Prisons Service (NPS), Mr. Zakari Ohinoyi Ibrahim, has disclosed that about 50 employees have lost their lives to Boko Haram attacks on prison facilities in the North. Ibrahim, who spoke in Calabar during a workshop on an “Overview of the Management of the Prisons Welfare Insurance Scheme- challenges and opportunities ,” noted that several other men and officers have also been injured due to organized attacks on prisons formations by the Islamist sect. He said: “As I am talking now, no fewer than 50 staff of the Nigerian Prisons have been killed by the Boko Haram insurgency and that is affecting our operations. Besides, several officers have sustained serious injuries.

The Management of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, has said that diversion of kerosene to neighbouring countries, industrial use, aviation fuel, sharp practices by middlemen and pipeline vandalism are reasons why kerosene is not readily available for domestic consumption. Group Managing Director of the Corporation Engr. Andrew Yakubu made this disclosure Tuesday during the two-day investigative public hearing on supply, distribution, expenditure and subsidy on kerosene.

Boko Haram: FG is winning the war- Presidency

The senior Special Assistant to the President on Public Affairs , Dr Doyin Okupe has debunked insinuations in some quarters that the insurgents are more armed and motivated than the security agencies in Nigeria. Addressing a press conference in Abuja on Tuesday, Dr Okupe said such comments can only mislead the public maintaining that as far back as over twelve months ago, the fighting machinery of the insurgents had suffered major decapitation and have resorted almost exclusively, to attacking soft targets such as schools, women and children and sleeping communities.

President Goodluck Jonathan has appointed  retired Brig.-Gen Jones Oladehinde Arogbofa as his new Chief. A statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Dr Reuben Abati said the appointment of Brig-Gen. Arogbofa, a retired Officer of the Signals Corps of the Nigerian Army, is with immediate effect and he has taken up appointment at the Presidential Villa.
