Court bars MultiChoice from DStv price hike in Nigeria

 The Federal High Court in Nigeria has ordered MultiChoice to back off from its "arbitrary" monthly increase of DStv subscription fees which would have come into effect from April. MultiChoice and MultiChoice Africa which runs the DStv as a satellite pay-TV service across Africa, hiked its monthly subscriber fees in South Africa and across the rest of the African continent with the increase leading to vocal consumer and subscriber outrage in especially Nigeria and Zambia.

The Confederation of African Football’s executive committee will on Wednesday decide the hosts for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations. AFCON 2015 runners-up Ghana, 2012 co-hosts Gabon and 1990 title winners Algeria are the three countries vying to take over hosting rights from Libya, who withdrew themselves last year due to the civil war currently happening in the country.
