Borussia Dortmund's Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Marco Reus celebrated their team's first goal against Schalke by producing Batman and Robin masks. Dortmund dominated the Ruhr derby but had to wait until the 78th minute for Gabon forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's breakthrough goal. That prompted Aubameyang to pull out Batman headgear while Reus celebrated by donning a Robin mask.

Cases of Ebola had been on the decline in Sierra Leone, but they have risen again in recent weeks The vice-president of Sierra Leone has put himself into quarantine after one of his bodyguards died from Ebola. Samuel Sam-Sumana said he would stay out of contact with others for 21 days as a precaution. There was optimism the virus was on the decline in Sierra Leone at the end of last year but there has been a recent increase in confirmed cases.

This was contained in a statement by Mr Ohi Alegbe, Group General Manager, Group Public Affairs Division of the corporation, in Abuja.

National coordinator of the Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC), Otunba Gani Adams, weekend, slammed the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Muhammadu Buhari, describing him as an enemy of democracy. Adams reminded Nigerians, while addressing newsmen in Lagos, that Buhari has never been a lover of democracy, having toppled a democratically elected government in 1983, and vehemently opposed the National Conference convergence, a platform to discuss the socio-political and economic future of the country.

Ijaw Youths have begged the Igbo people for forgiveness over the role their parents played against the Igbos in the Nigeria/Biafra Civil War of 1967/70. The youths noted that if the level of awareness and information technology available today were in the country then, the Ijaw would have supported the Biafra’s cause. President of Ijaw Youth Council, Comrade Udengs Eradiri, who spoke at the Ohanaeze Youth Council’s (OYC’s) submit, held in Owerri, the Imo State capital, said the Niger Delta erred for not supporting the Biafra’s cause.
