Nokia  is forever growing and adding to their extensive list of technology.  Currently, they have bought out a 3D geolocation technology from a security and surveillance company in Israel called  NICE systems . This new 3D technology will help increase Nokia ’ s performance in mobile networks as well as trends in traffic using 3D modelling.  Because there is a forecasted increase in internet usage, network operators will be able to speed up the launch of small cell sites over a variety of locations.  The geolocation technology will enable operators to collate essential data for managing the movement of traffic and network planning. Another takeover by Nokia, was its purchase of  SAC Wireless , a network installation service provider located in the United States.  Nokia also bought a wireless company,  Mesaplexx , from Australia in June of this year.  They will help the company to resize base stations as well as small cell sites.

Well, it’s another week which means there’s another iPhone 6 rumor. This one, though, seems like it might have some merit which is worth talking about. Techbeat just recently reported that Walmart is one of the major retailers offering massive price cuts on their inventories of iPhone 5c’s and 5s’s. In case you missed that article, you can now buy an iPhone 5c for $29, or you can get a 5s for $99. (These deals are only available in physical stores, and you have to also sign a new 2-year contract). While that’s great news about lower prices, that’s probably not the best news. The best news might just be that it’s not going to be too long before something takes the iPhone 5c/5s’s spot on the shelf – namely, the iPhone 6. It seems like Walmart (amidst other retailers) is trying to reduce their inventory load so they can replace it with Apple’s latest offering once it’s available. The Quantity Surveyors Registration Board of Nigeria said on Thursday that Nigeria   needed 700,000 housing units annually to meet the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). This is contained in a communique signed by the President and Registrar of the board, Messrs Husaini Dikko and Mr Godson Moneke respectively, at the end of the 4th Annual Building and Construction Economic Round-Table (BCERT 4). The communiqué indicated that the current annual housing production which stands at 100,000, was grossly inadequate. It put the current housing deficit in Nigeria at 17 million units adding that about   N 56 trillion was required to finance it. "In the developed countries of Europe and the United States, mortgage finance contributes between 50 per cent and 80 per cent to the Gross (GDP) of the respective countries.

There are indications that President Goodluck Jonathan has sent to the Senate, the name of Corp Marshall of the Federal Road Safety Corp (FRSC), Osita Chidoka, to be considered as the new Aviation Minister. Chidoka, if cleared, would replace Stella Oduah for the Anambra state slot. Since Oduah’s exit from the Jonathan cabinet in February Anambra has been without a Minister representing it in the cabinet. The delay in replacing Oduah was as a result of some disagreements between interest groups in   Anambra politics.  although Jonathan had favored  the immediate past governor of the state and member of the rival All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Peter Obi for appointment as Minister, some Anambra politicians especially members of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP did not like it.
