Kerry offers 'big hug' to Paris after attacks

Image
"Our hearts are with you", Kerry tells Hollande U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry paid respect in both English and French on Friday to the victims of last week's terrorist attacks in Paris in a show of American solidarity with the French people. At a ceremony at the Hotel de Ville, the city hall of Paris, Kerry called the attacks a "living nightmare" but one that would unite rather than divide the people of France and the world. "I really wanted to come here and share a hug with all of Paris and all friends," he told the crowd that included survivors, family members of victims, and members of the police and municipal government who responded to the attacks, including the Muslim man who risked his life to hide Jewish patrons from the gunman who stormed a kosher supermarket. "I wanted to express to you personally the sheer horror and revulsion of all Americans for the cowardly and despicable assault on innocent lives," Kerry said.

“Not all Muslims are terrorists, but all terrorists are Muslims.” How many times have you heard that one?

Are All Terrorists Muslims? It’s Not Even Close What percentage of terror attacks in the United States and Europe are committed by Muslims? Guess. Nope. Guess again. And again...  Sure, we heard Fox News’s Brian Kilmeade say it, but to me, that was simply part of the Fox News plan to make their viewers dumber, as we saw again this past weekend when its terrorism “expert” Steve Emerson wascaught fabricating the story that Birmingham, England, is closed to non-Muslims. But more alarmingly, even some reasonable people have uttered this statement.

Ribadu’s Emergence As Guber Candidate May Cost PDP Adamawa State – Sen. Girei

Image
A member of the Goodluck Jonathan Campaign Organisation, Senator Abubakar Halilu Girei, has faulted the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Chairman, Adamu Muazu and President Goodluck Jonathan over their handling of the crisis currently rocking the Adamawa State chapter of party, warning that PDP may lose the state in the forthcoming general elections. Speaking to journalists in Yola, the Adamwa State capital, Girei called on President Jonathan to personally lead the reconciliation efforts to bring aggrieved members back to the fold, saying the governorship candidate of the party, Nuhu Ribadu, lacks what it takes to solve the problem. The emergence of Ribadu as the PDP guber candidate has torn the local chapter of the party apart with no fewer than four of his opponents and other stakeholders rejecting his nomination as an imposition.
